Difference of line-ups in PVP and PVE settings

What are the main differences in setting up a pvp-centric party, as opposed to a pve-centric one? I understand that a powerful pve mercenary may be mediocre in pvp, and vice versa (also applies to party set-up). Theoretically, I think stunner teams are very powerful in pvp. Multiple hit units like gunners, cannonneers and spearmen could stun your opponents for long periods of time. In PVE, freezing party seems like a good setup... until the enemies become immune to freeze anyway.

I think it will be perfect if you plan your strategies right away. This will give you an upperhand to your enemy. A perfect plan sometimes might experience some bumps, so you have always to be ready for a plan b. A well planned strategy to beat up your enemy is a good thing for the player. Since you can furthur use your imagination on how will you get rid of your enemies.
I agree with the post above me that a good strategy makes you be able to give a good fight if not win in any battle.
This is interesting simply because these PvE/PvP builds had its heights from World of Warcraft as i do remember(correct me if im wrong as i know a few old PC RPG Games uses these terms as well).
In Atlantica Online, as i have read in different posts, i found out that at higher level quests, mobs start to have a certain resistance to the freezing attack but of course through out the game, stun is something that will always be part of any battle. So why not stay with with the stunning build(as i call it for your party) if it is your gameplay. Or be the aggressive strategist concentrating on finishing battles right away(this i really would want to see)
In any case, feel the way you play as each one has they own tactics and concentrate on improving it with spells and merc line-ups. All of these do depend on how you battle ingame. What your instict tell you in tight situations. Consider these and you will surely put up a good fight.
stunner builds are definitely effective in PVP, i could even go out on a limb and and say that this is the ONLY way to go in battling in PVP,,, on the other hand in PVE, stunner builds does not necesarily mean that it is ineffective,, but i guess you could say you dont need it anymore.. stuns are effective in battles lasting 5-10 turns which is PVP... whle in PVE you can easily kill enemies in 2-3 turns so you dont have to stun them anymore.... this is of course is relative only to the 50 below levels.. onvce you reach higher levels stunning is very impt in PVE once reinforcements become common with enemies
Stun builds own PVP, and ppl use a cannoneer as a main or they hire an artilleryman. This is the ideal and more superior stunner build. However a PVP centric party will definitely hinder your PVE capability. That is why in most cases ppl make a party that's more in between. And in PVP not all your mercs can attack. Which just means that in PVP, a lot more can happen, even if your strategy was perfect.

Try out to brain storm for some strategies. The differece between the two is that on pvp both of you uses your own strategy to get rid of the other own, it means brain vs. brain unlike pve it is an ai who plays the monster, I believed that it will far be more much easier because it is already encoded on what will that monster do.
So it will be much easier to plan out an attack to pve rather than pvp.

I wouldn't count on that. There are boss monsters in the game like Elizabeth and Dracula that give you a hell of a time to beat them. In any case, if you mainly want PVP, go for stun builds. They are far more superior in terms of damage dealt to the enemy. For PVE, there are varying strategies but a pure PVP stunner build with a cannon will have its damaging capability reduced.
