Up All Night Gaming - an adult gaming alliance

StorpappaStorpappa Member Posts: 17

Hello!
Up All Night Gaming - http://www.upallnightgaming.com

We are an adult gaming group that is focused on people.
The name over a toons head in a virtual world is not as important as the individual person.
No dewd leet speakers
No whining children.

At our core we are co-workers, friends and family with a gaming history dating back to MUD's, the original Adventure, and standing in an open field west of a big white house with a boarded front door, onto many first-person shooters (CT, BF and HALO)
We have people who power-level, and people who don't.
We have crafters, gathers, hunters, tanks, healers and Jack-Of-All-Trades.

We don't have captain’s positions.
If you hear "New guild, Captains positions available today only for a limited time if you apply now" and get the picture in your mind of someone living in their mom's basement, we are the group for you.
Come on over and have a laugh.
Work is tough, your game time should be fun and enjoyable.

We make extensive use of Teamspeak. Its easier to yell "STOP!" and know everyone hears it and stops, then it is to type it onto the wrong chat channel and get the group wiped out.
If you are an adult gamer, wanting to get away from dewd lewt speakers, whining players, and bad pickup teams, stop by and check us out.

Joining one of our guilds is never required.
We will be forming guilds in EQ II, but joining one of those guilds is optional.
Many join after chatting with us and teaming not for the name, but to get away from grievers who send constant SPAM invites to join the random guild of the day.

Please ask yourself - why would a group of people only want to adventure with you if you put their name over your head? Or treat you any differently for loot or raid positions?

Good people are good people.
We would rather have 1 good person on teamspeak then 100 bad people on a guild roster channel any day of the week

I get the impression that this guild is large? Can you approximate how many you expect to have in guild or do you have any goals as per how many should be online at any given time?
It's no fun to be in a guild when no one else is onlne!

It's hard to judge our numbers accurately as members come from all sorts of genres and an open recruit policy. Just be an adult and register on our forums. We currently have our largest member base from City of Heroes with over 400. Other games we host for are SWG, Everquest, UO, EQII (Beta), Halo, Halo 2 (on Release), Doom 3, DAoC, and Vanguard. It's an open adult gaming community so we don't force people to "Join" us. If you have a guild/group and wish to remain so, then we'll give you a protected channel in teamspeak for that group. You can be a member of UANG, an Ally of UANG, or for you solo people, an Associate. If you play a game that doesn't have a high population with us yet, feel free to invite people you meet while you are gaming. It matters more to us that you enjoy the company we keep on the channel and allow teamspeak to heighten your grouping and gaming experience.

High points on teamspeak are during primetime US hours (6 pm eastern to about 12 pm eastern). At this time you can find between 20 and 50 people on for different games. We get more on event nights like Monday Night Halo (Yes, we host a server for that too :P ).

I will say that we are not in any way a competitive or elite gaming group. No Ladder matches on the FPS, and we usually stick to the rules of a game (minimal powerleveling and exploiting) except in cases of testing. Most of us are beta testers (If you own the 2nd addition of the Prima City of Heroes Guide, look for my name as a researcher :D ) for multiple games and because of this, we have a close working reputation with many of the online gaming companies such as SOE, NCSoft, and Microsoft.

So, that's about the flat rundown on Up All Night Gaming. If you even think this may be for you, mic or no, hop on teamspeak and chat with us. Learn how you can win a brand new Plantronics Stereo Headset, Copy of Halo for PC, or even an EQII Beta account.

As Neo said, we dont have a rigid recrutment policy other then to keep out children and idiots. There are regular users of the boards, people in the various CoH SG's and non SG people who use the forums, some the web sites, others teamspeak. On a good night, the teamspeak server will handle 10-15Gb of traffic. on that same 24 hour period you may see not one single post in the forums. Its really a cultural decision.

If you actually say hello and talk to someone, its much more personable then a text hello.

Count me as interested. I did register (as Vendetta), and I'm all about Teamspeak. My guildies in Horizons used it and it made corrdinating soooooo much easier.

    Thanks for the info!
