Looking for a second MMO...

Hey,

 

I am looking for suggestions for a new MMO... 

I am exclusivly a PvE player and mostly play fighter types or DPS type characters.  I have been playing CoH/ CoV for last two years and am looking to try something new.  I have tried WoW and Vanguard and found dull after about three weeks.

I am looking for solid PvE content, decent community, graphics are nice but I am not hung up on them.  I solo alot as well... I have been doing some research and am leaning towards LoTR or WAR...though WAR is a PvP focused game, I love the setting.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

    I would strongly recommend LOTRO I have played both LOTRO and WAR and if your into PVE WARs simplicity and mobs lack of AI will really get boring quickly.

    LOTRO also has extremely fun dungeons for when your feeling sociable! Also has by the far the best planned and implemented story line via the 'Book' Dungeons. - Most of these do require a group tho.

    WAR comes up lacking  in PVE content, there is no way at the moment that you could level purely by PVE as you run out of quests and will end up having to grind... most peeps complement PVE levelling with RVR or PVP levelling. Game was fun for a few weeks but yea gets to the point where you struggle to log in.You never know it could be your thing though! - but seriously I would wait for a free trial with this one.

    Still looking for that game with a big enough 'Hook' for myself at the moment tho :*( Damn you SOE grrrr. Playing Requiem Bloodymare for giggles - but yea massive grind/bot fest - am personally waiting to see what Spellborn, Earthrise, Darkfall and the new Star Wars MMO shape up to be like.

    Remember these are strictly my views  others may disagree but hope you have fun anyways!

    I don't think WAR is your cup of tea then. LOTRO is worth trying, and so is EQ2.

    Upcomming Spellborn seems intresting too but the community will probably suck as MMO communities usually do the first 3 months.

    I like the WAR setting too but WAR is not a great game for solo PvE.

    I think LoTRo is the best choice for you as a 2nd MMO however..

    The game has about the best quest system and the lore is just amazing but yet again it seems to be focused around the journey and not about the end-game PvE

    If you enjoy solo PvE then go for it but if you're looking at raiding and the end-game stuff it's decent but not the best out there.

    With those criteria, there's a lot of choices. LoTRO, Runescape, Ryzom and if you like role playing, the best for that is Magic of the Gods.
