You should be ok to run at max with that.. You might stutter a bit when a ton of NPC's are around  like in the main cities..  I have a 1g nvidia card and 2 g of ram and I can still stutter once in a while.. But nothing game breaking..  Make sure you set you AF and Antialias in your card.. It will improve perfomance and game apearance :)

Another factor to consider with your setup is how many programs you have running in the background while playing. I know with my 2.8 Quad core i tend to stutter just a little when i have stuff in the background like a ton of browser pages open, norton background scanning and stuff like that. But for the most part you should be fine. Good site to insure this is http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srl. That'll scan your system's specs and give you a graph showing your systems overall rating for different games.

Even though thats a decent card, are you running Vista or XP? If your running Vista then your proccessor may be an issue. Even though its more the min requirements you will still suffer some sticky lag. No huge spikes but a little bit in crowded areas. (Online players I mean)

For some reason it takes more RAM to run on Vista. I think it states 2G RAM for Vista OS. So if your running Vista your just over min spec. So not maxing out graphics is gonna be you first thing to do.

    Enjoy : )

I made a graphics profile for war for my video card and tweaked some settings.  It improved my performance by 300-400%.  Each system is different so you have to experiment.  What made the biggest difference for me was changing pre-rendered frames in my graphics card form 3 to 1.  It took out almost all my stuttering.  Check the warhammer alliace forum it has some tips in the user to user support section.

If your running on XP then there is an underlined issue. A suggestion I will make is kinda diffrnent but it works. On Windows based computers programs are always running whether you see them or not. Heres a tip to test for leakage or just to much going on at once

Click on your start button and click run

On that empty box type       msconfig

After that a window opens. On the first tab choose selective start-up

then take the check out of load start-up items

    Then click on start-up Tab

Make sure nothing is checked. If there is then uncheck it (If you have a huge list in here this maybe your problem)

Then click on the services tab

the at the bottom of the window there is a "Hide all microsoft services" box to check (make sure this is checked)

    Then click disable all.

    Then click OK.

After you close that window you need to restart your comp

Basically what you doing here is turning off everything not needed to run your computer. If you do this and there is no lag, or anything else then you either have memory leakage or just to many damn programs lol.

To reset it back to normal just follow these steps over again and reverse everything you did.

WARNING: This will disable all firewall and anti-virus as well. This is for testing only. This should not be how to run your computer at all times. For more information go to support.microsoft.com for more information on this.

Just try it, I never heard anyone destroying there computer from doing this. I swear its 100 pct safe, check the site for full details

    Enjoy : )

So let me share my experiences. I wanted to play WAR, cause it looked pretty decent (although graphis is on the face compared to AoC), anyway I wanted to play it. I could not, and I have repeatedly trie for a month now. It's just impossible.

The game crashes randmly, sometime after 30 min, other times not before after 8 hours. Very annoying when this happen in a mingame. The other thing is the low FPS and the lagg, I just can't play this stuf, it's like a slideshow at 15 FPS with PvP peps teleporting back and forth while I run about trying to hit them. WTF?? I have a 8800 GTX, and this stuff should be no problem for my Rig (and I know it isn't my gear as I run AoC at 30-40 FPS no lagg). So I understand you, even though we both probably are going to get flamed to hell for talking about these issues in the middle of the WAR forum.

I assumed ATI had some sort of game graphics profile as well.  You must be able to change the graphics card settings somewhere as I have read about people with ATI cards doing it.

It happens in every game.  Different systems even high end ones have some problem somewhere.  It can often be hard to track down.

For example I have a 2ghz laptop, 2 gigs ram and an 8600m gt.  It isn't the greatest system but I get almost no lag.  I have tweaked a lot of the settings down, but I don't see much difference in graphics with the ones I have turned down.

Please don't take this as a flame, I really am just trying to be helpful

There is something in your rig not working right.

This game requires a fair system to be played, and min requirements are thats it. It does not state your not gonna have problems. It just mins you can play the game. Granted you have a good system and can run AoC fine, but this is not AoC. You cannot compare 1 game to another in the tech aspect. Try the steps I listed above to see if that improves your gameplay.

If the steps above do not improve your gameplay then there is 3 things that could be wrong

    1. Your connection to the server (since the whole game crashes then not likey this)

2.Your game needs to be reinstalled

    3. Your system data files maybe corrupted or damaged. Which means reinstalling OS

The last one listed is a very common issue. You may say that everything works fine, it doesn't matter. WAR requires your system to be in top shape. If it is not tehn your not getting the best of it. Plain and simple

Im not trying to be mean, please understand this. But your system is the problem.

    Enjoy : )
