not a surprise. I would say that for every 100 players leaving warhammer for another game, 60 will go/return to wow, and the other 40 will go to other mmorpg's. Most of the people that left AOC will not return.
In the contest between war and aoc, the winner will always be WOTLK.
ps: and yes the population on warhammer is going down, Kind of expected but most players that play mmorpg are kind on the dumb side of town and rarelly make any research to see what they will get.
the great difference between warhammer and AOC is that, for me at least, warhammer did not ilude anyone (if people got ilusions about warhammer it is their own fault since the great promisse of warhammer was a pvp centric mmorpg where RvR or area control would be the end game. and that is what we got.
now if pvp alone is enough to make a game , that is another question, I consider myself a pvp'er but have no ilusions, pvp centric games will never get and/or sustain a large influx of players.
Considering you have never played WAR - how did you come up with your questions and what value do they have. Bad news for you - all those people who according to you have left WAR - apparently none of them went back to AOC as its xfire numbers are down from the previous Monday. AOC has dropped from #39 to #41 on xfire, whilst WAR is still hanging in at #5.
If your contribution to this thread is "WAR is doing great" you are not paying much attention. Xfire number of players got reduced from 11350 yesterday to 10470 today that is a 10470/11350= 0.92 -8% decrease. Poll is coming up with some very interesting results on why this happens. All time low number of Xfire gamers in WAR is today at: 10472
It is monday again and as I promissed last Thursday, when the fanboisquad was flaming me from right and left because of the xfire numbers I posted, I said I would rather come back this Monday to have another look on the negative trend as the trend would be clearer with another week under the belt. www.xfire.com/games/who/Warhammer_Online_Age_of_Reckoning/ As you can see WAR is still dropping in popularity and if you compare WAR gamingtime Monday the 13th of Oct to Sep 29th you see there is about a -27% reduction in gamingtime and -35% reduction in gaming population.I don't know about you but I think it could get much worse by the end of the week when free sub start to run out. Lets have a poll so that we can form a consensus on why WAR has such a rapid popularity drop.
Or you can look at it as there was an increase in gametime since last thursday. I don't see any population drop off. Especially not 35% of the population.
Lets take into account that at the peak WARHAMMER said that they had sold 750,000 boxes for WARHAMMER. It shows -- take yesterday for example, that 10,000 xfire users were logged. which is an extreme fraction of the total population due to boxes sold.
That being said a decrease in Xfire number from what it was originally.. which I would guess but cannot be sure of around 13 - 15K tops, xfire players to begin with, still is only a stark fraction. of the overall population.
Which would mean if 13K was the highest then we're actually seeing more of a 20 percent drop in Xfire PLAYERS.. actual PLAYERS.. not just gametime which is the amount of time people have a chance to play per day.
Even if the original amount of players was 15K on xfire.. you're still looking at only a 32% decrease in xfire players... not 35.. so even your survey numbers are somewhat flawed, especially as it doesn't denote the actual playerbase and instead just captures the overall time that was played.
So as far as thats concerned I don't think you've really proved any points here... the population on my server has grown, that much I'm certain of. Ungrim ftw.
Oh, and don't either of you reply with the usual "why can't people have a negative opinion about WAR?" BS because everyone is entitled to their opinion, but consistently posting in 90% of the threads on the WAR forums repeating the same shit is NOT acceptable.
You don't EVER bring anything new here. For Orionman it's the same always; "Xfire is law for WAR, but does NOT mean anything to AoC!!!!111!1!!!!!1!1" and for Bodypass it's just "WAR is trash, WoW is teh best, OMG WAR sucks and WoW rules!!!11!!!1111!!"
The sleeper awakes...and rides his dirtbike to the mall.
Looking on the result of this poll there is a clear indication that technical issues are way more common than what some WAR fans want to lead us to belive. In that context, I just found something very interesting over in the WARhammeralliance forums that kind of confirms this.
Somebody performed this survey over in the WARhammer Alience forums and found that only 26% of WAR's players have a nonflawed gaming experience. What's shocking is that >40% of the people have really really bad problems like slideshow FPS in RvR, Disaster Lag and Crash to desktop or all of these.
This stands in strong contrast to anything the WARpeople report here in MMORPG (which is very stupid). By hiding these problems away you are only shooting yourself in the foot as gamers would think it is their PC that is the problem, and resultingly give up subscription. No wonder that xfire show a negative population trend when >40% of the players have very very annoying issues.
I know the WARsquad will be here in a moment to light me up, but go ahead this is not my poll. This is WAR people finally coming down on Mythic. (I will start a separate thread on this for elaborate discussion).

As they SHOULD be. You don't even play the game, yet you're allowed to continue to post the same trollish stuff over and over again.

Stop all of these stupid XFire posts.......I bet not even 20% of online gamers who play these games use that stupid program. Everyone I know uses Ventrillo for online games these days. Especially in games like this. Then most people who do have it never turn it on or only turn it on every now and then. Do you people honestly think every one who games uses XFire? Going by there population results is just ridiculous.

Todays numbers in Xfire is naturally based on yesterdays gaming and so on. You are the one that have to explain your point.

Orionman, may I ask why you care at all about WAR's Xfire numbers? Why do you come here week after week to post these bullshit threads?
You don't like the game....we get it dude. Go play AoC and have a ball...I don't like AoC, but you don't see me in the AoC forums EVER.
Buzz off already, you're starting to become annoying.
Same to you Bodypass. WoW needs you back already...stop wasting your time in these forums.
