Yeah, I've been following Dark and light for years and then I left it for AOC. Guess what both games are nothing more than an empty shell and a list of promises.
Dark and light had the best ideas for open PVP, classes, gathering, mounts, characters... and the lore was great.
AOC they have one of the most anticipated MMO ever with the first DirectX 10 Environment but they failed us. I was in the beta almost 2 years ago and I've been playing and testing it but once they released the game the feeling was still that I was in the Beta. Just the same feeling happened with Dark and Light.
I have been testing most of the new game out there for the last 8-9 years and I can tell that even WoW wasn't a good start but the last 2 games i mentionned are even worst than worst. At least some games like Vanguard manage to come back from their ashes. It will take more than a year for Funcom to bring AOC back even with DirectX 10 they won't have enough player to compete with Warhammer and WoW.
I wish good luck to Funcom but you will need to do a lot to bring me back to your game.

What ever happened to D&L?
Went to China with its tail between its legs apparently...
Yeah well AOC was running about 15-30 FPS max settings 1920x1200 AA/AF enabled and everything right but I was getting micro stutters because I only have 112 steam processors on each graphics card and not enough VRAM. The game will be rich in graphics when DX10 is implemented and by that time maybe I would return to re-roll and play through with all the candy smoothly like it is meant to be played.
CURRENTLY PLAYING SHAIYA
Other than Age of Mourning (I think that was the name), nothing compares to D&L.
So they're billing people who have supposedly removed their billing information? Alligations of stealing other peoples source code?
That's just the start.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
AOC may have failed to meet expectations, but it is far from the completely dismal failure that is D & L.
AoC has a lot of haters. HOwever, understand its never as bad as they post it is. AoC was underwhelming in end game on release but over time may become a very fun game.
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
At least AoC was playable, unlike D&L.
Problem is here...AoC MAY become a fun game. But how many hundreds of thousands of customers have they lost because of NOT living up to its own promises n hype. AoC may become fun, but I like many others will never bother to give it a second chance.
Dumbest comparison ever.
AoC even with its faults is on a completely different level.
