So I tried to register for Stargate Beta today...
I typed in my typical name I use and it said name already registered ...hmm...ok...sometimes i forget since i sign up for quite a few. After not being able to figure out my password I sent a password request to my email. The request form shows a different name (generic business kind of name) and it was registered to a person in Mesa AZ !! ( I live in UT). So somehow someone used my email, name and was able to log into my email to follow the link that is needed to complete my registration. I google earth the address and its an apartment down there but no name or apartment number. God...is nothing sacred anymore.

Yeah..its not life altering or anything. I just find it annoying. Wonder how they got my password for the email though.
Oh that's nothing, there's an evil paulscott or two around... One time I even got into their account because I thought it was mine, the dumbarse used the same pass as his username.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

What lots of people seem to forget is that not everybody is American and familiar with state abbreviations. It's pure luck that I'm very familiar with Mesa.
Anyway, the offer still stands.
Don't worry about it. Everyone has their name and details changed to the same thing last night when CME was doing some beta preparation stuff. Tkksnow over at the official boards has said its nothing to worry about and it won't affect your chances of getting into beta.
This was indeed a bug in the database this happened to several dozen people. No one hacked you, you simply need to change the information back to the correct answers and check the beta box.

It's actually the name of the Development company who are making the game and thier address. It means you applied for the beta through a different site, like Ten Ton Hammer, and the info was filled in automatically. I have the same myself. I just left it like that.
