It's been in the works for the last 3-4 months, and basically is a mish-mash of material SoE has purchased from other Star Wars games with Bespin in it, to make the production process faster.
The ONLY part they are actually splashing out on is that they are really asking Billy Dee Williams and the guy who voices Kyle Katarn to do voices for it.
Smedley seems to think the idea of actually creating content from the era the game is set in, rather than more clone wars stuff is "original thinking".
I'm sure that'll give a good few of you a chuckle. "

Gosh, it seems just like the denials that there was a "SWG Starter Pack" or whatever they called it back in the fall of '05 denying the essence of the NGE.
These idiots NEVER learn from their mistakes.

Yeah they got owned and as usual want to deny, or maybe this was just a ploy to draw attention away from ORo. I mena they got 2 9 page threads on it over in General Star Wars on ORo/KOTORo, lol this leak has generated excitement among their fanbase for SWG again. xD
Really it's not gonna bring a whole lot of people back though. Honestly every since the whole Mustafar expansion fiasco I will never buy another expansion for any game ever. I'll just wait till they are made free even if I have to wait 2 years for it.
I dont see how that can be fake tbh, especially not with the accompanying story.
Some people are saying it would be easy to do on the official forums (as in fake) but I tend to disagree. That would not be easily faked.
My guess is that it is real. Why not ride the hype of KotoRo?
Since they are going to be 2 totally different games, there is no reason why SOE doesn't use KotoRo's press to promote itself. More money for LA at the end of the day.

This does make sense. All SOE has left is viral marketing - the game is too old and doesn't produce enough income to justify any other type of marketing. If they can generate hype riding another game's coattails, well... it sounds like something Teh Smed would do anyway.

How funny...but as we all know, SWG will never see another expansion. Cookie-cutter instances, endless grindtastic collections and empty servers are the future of SWG.

Sure there was grinding before the NGE. But it was a small part of the total game. The current SWG dev team has made it half of the "content" they are providing for the few players left. That's certainly nothing to be proud of.

This is the kinda content we needed during Pre CU which was everyones complaint that the game didn't feel like Star Wars and there was nothing to do. Just a shame they did the NGE and now noone cares.

Its NOT real. Smed isn't "up to" anything and no one is pushing or speeding up production. It doesn't exist.

Its to bad though. SWG could use some "new blood" so to speak. I'm no hater of the game, I just never thought it was all that great. It has a lot of nice features that many MMOs could only hope to have.
Its not as bad as the vets make it out to be, I played pre and post NGE. Both versions were a mess. Its better then AoC, TR, Hellgate, PotBS and sh*tload of other games out there but its irrelevent now, its an old has been game in any event with a ton of bad blood with the community that can never be repaired.

Sorry but its easy to spot its a fake the makers borrowed parts of jedi knight oucast, rogue squadron and some of the emulator thrown in for character creation and the the interior lando scene. The voiceover hardly sounds professional too, nice try mate.
This game is never getting another expansion unless its for the trading card game, just look how long its taking them to put the hoth instance in if you don't believe that.
Well SOE has kind of tossed out their credibility by all their deceptions and denials in the past. So, when they now deny this, even if it is a fake, who can believe them?
I have no idea whether or not there's anything to this (frankly I'm skeptical), but SOE's denial is meaningless, just as it was with the Starter Kit.
Partly I'm skeptical because Smed has already accomplished essentially the same thing with the promised hoth instance, promised free server transfers, and the new card game. The promises string people along and we never know with him if he'll follow through. The card game has people paying for a chance to get podracers and ending up with squat.
P.S. Like Sookster, I'm getting tired of the MMO genre. Over in CoH now they're talking about dismantling the PvP game to make it more user friendly for inexperienced players. Some say they can afford to lose the veteran pvpers because the simplified mechanics will bring in so many replacement subs. Did SOE executives go over to NCsoft lately or something, or are they just drinking the same water...
