i dont really like either of these games but i like how guilds are done in EQ2 with the fame they can get and the powers with it sounds cool and the only thing WoW has for it is the name and quest system that they thinks so revolutionary which it isnt DnL has a lot better quest system

15... isnt that when halo 2 comes out just buy that :P

I lean towards WoW because I like how diverse with breadth and depth of game-play it is with its hybrid PvE and PvP platoform which favors player driven role-playing and interaction.

leaning towards WOW, looks really good, very atmospheric, but as a filler until Dark and Light comes out, it should keep me going for about 6 months image

WoW has a lot more to offer than just some quest system that isnt' grand. It offers a fun playing time for one. The dungeons and world locations are very well done and will present hours of entertainment. Plus the battlezones for pvp. There is a lot more if you were to look into it. Not saying it is better than EQ2 because everyone thinks differently and I haven't tried both. I'd say try each open beta...WoW's starts soon and I'm sure EQ2 will too.

Unitl i see EQ2 my vote is with WoW.   I've played it and it's great fun.

You have to ask yourself this, if EQ2 is so great then why do they seem so scared to hold an open beta before launch?  and why is the NDA so tight? don't tell me people are going to steal their ideas and code a MMO two months before retail :p

I don't know what I'm gonna buy. Hopefully I get into EQ2 beta so I can test that, I'm also going to test WoW in open beta. Whichever I like better will be the lucky game that gets to come home with me.

I choose WoW because it supports the hardcore gamer and also the casual gamer like me.

Although there is no release date except 2004, especially as said by SOE on EQII.  The Nov. 15 was set by most gaming stores as expected date, SOE on the other hand said 2004, but WOW is estimating Nov.15.

I myself am unsure as to which, given the fact I was lucky enough to try the stress test of WOW, and unlucky to try out EQII.  Decisions, decisions its so hard to decide right now.

    Quick note for you:

I've tried both of these games and both got unique graphics style. There is no big difference in graphics between both of these games.

Gameplay is better in World of Warcraft than in Everquest 2 because of lots of events hosted by GMs (it is very promissing) Everquest got less game events than World of Warcraft. Why would you ask game events is important? Beacuse it is mmorpg (massive online role playing game) like in real life competition in game is very intresting and important.

Sounds is much much better in Everquest 2 than in World of Warcraft because let's put it simple every quest related character will talk to you with real voice. Why would you ask sounds is so important for game? Because it will make you interact with the Everquest 2 world more real and feel more exciting.

    MY Conclusion: ::::38::
World of Warcraft if you want better gameplay
Everquest 2 if you want more real interactive(user friendly) world

This is my expirience with both games from beta tester prospective and it reflects only the content that is currently in the game.

P.S. Please no bla bla bla talk, for example, this company or another prommised to do something in the future. Well they DIDNT and they WONT. Deal with it. ::::40::

On Nov 15th, you should have been playing Halo 2 for about a week and be very addicted to it. Should hold you over til Dark and Light is released. :)

EQ2 isn't having a true open beta. It's more like anywhere else's closed beta where you fill and app out, they read it, throw it in a lottery, and you hope and pray. Even says so on their site. For that reason alone, I'm going WoW. They let you try out an (incomplete) game that at least gives you an idea of what to expect. SOE is all about the money, and they don't give 2 shits about the comsumer. Their "open" beta is basically going to be a stress test to make sure the servers can handle the load, and that everything is running right.

SOE makes decent games that appeal to nerds. Their customer service is run by jocks who bully nerds. Wonder why SOE sucks so bad...

  • imabsyouimabsyou Member Posts: 17
When you say "incomplete", didn't you mean to say "Will be a releasable game by open beta". Hell It felt releasable in the STRESS TEST, and that was a few months ago.

    Stuff.

No matter what mmorpg you chose prepare yourself to be addicted and pissed off in a game that you can ever be in RL. Comunitys in some games are simply retarded and in others they are the best, but to find a mmorpg that has only one of theese two categories is imposible so you will only find hybrids, wich again can cause pretty bad headaches. Sorry, i talked about comunity, im jsut pissed off :).

As a mmorpg, i suggest any of the new ones that came out or are to come out, this way you will have a chance to catch up with the hardcore 16h/day players

I think there is a big difference in graphics.  EQ2 is "more real" and WoW is "more WarCraft"...which I like about both.

I dont think the NPC's talking is all that great, after the first 3 hours I found myself clicking through all the dialog because it got so repetitive and drawn out...Not a plus for me.

After playing both, I like WoW the best, I didnt feel I had to quest all of the time...I could hunt for new mobs all over the world, explore new places, join raids, kill orcs and taurens (and be killed) and quest when I got the urge.  EQ2 had me feeling like I had to quest or not play at all.  I still have a list a mile long of quests still waiting for completion...is there no end???

Well I know I enjoyed taking over a year to level and enjoy my game EQ in the day didn't mean hit 60 NOW. It does now and so I left....

SW:G the theme is totally lost in that game but I enjoyed it cause playing casually I got to enjoy it for about 7-8 months before I noticed all that it was lacking LOL....

WoW I will enjoy cause I don't want to bust thru it and from what I been reading I don't HAVE too.

I fear EQ2 will have the hardcores of EQ1 in it with bunches of people wanting you to level asap.

I want to enjoy my game not 'WIN' it.

    WoW for me.

If i were you i would hold off and see how the games fair, who knows mabye one will bomb, but all in all you should pick which ever one you want to play. which one is slightly more appealing then the other? which one do you find yourself always looking at more unconsiously? Pick a game that will entertain you and not be a burden to play as you trying to level grind your player. You shouldn't depend on others for advice because their mindsets are way different from your own. People like differnt things thats why so many games are out, but rather you should go with your gut instinct.

If your looking for something else it just so happens that a non mmorpg is comming out on the same day. It is an RTS called "battle for middle earth." Check it out if you liked the movies.

I put EQ2 because I don't want to play with you on WoW.

Why do people have to keep asking "WHICH 1 SHUD I PLAY LOL!?!!1"

I hate how they all need people to give them -their- opinions.  I'm not totally being a jackass here, I'm all down for reading everyone's thoughts on the two games.  The only thing is... there use to be 15 topics a day containing everyone's thoughts (usually the same people, which is somewhat humorous as I would read almost the SAME THING EVERYWHERE AND EVERYDAY).  At least MMORPG.com did something about it and made an official thread.  And don't say 'Well, uhhh... maybe he hasn't seen that thread?"  Shut up, he has.

As it is, we all know what kind of fanbase WoW has been attracting.  If you don't, that's because your an idiot and/or probably one of those people.  It won't do harm to reduce that population, as I honestly thing that will be the downfall of WoW (if there is one).  At least the name filter will maybe keep the morons out of the game for an extra 2 hours as they try and think of a real name.

*I don't want to see someone posting that the entire population won't be like that.  I know it won't.

Im really suprised that WoW has so many followers. IMO the game sucks and has no ideas. And I have read almost everything about both games. I dont like how WoW is going to be too easy, beta people said that lvl 50 is very easy to achive. Also there is no real dealth penalty, this will ruin some of the fun in PVP. The game doesnt have player housing, and the raid system sucks. There is no real customization in the player apearence or the classes. All you really can be in the game is different weapons and armor, and different type of melee like damaging or tank and such. I like how EQ2 has different classes you become at high lvls. One think I do like about WoW is I can tell it will be a very stable game and low amounts of lag. And wow is good for little kids and noobs to mmorpgs, but if you are a hardcore gamer then I think that EQ2 is way better.
