Since for starters we can just hire a class D type mercenary. So, when will be the time for us to hire a class C mercenary? And what are the necessary requirements for having such mercenaries?

The earliest class C mercenary is the beast trainer at level 44. When you reach that level, you need to talk to an NPC for a quest. The quest itself is about 2 hours, and will involve partying and killing a boss. C class mercs are harder to upgrade than normal because of the more expensive crystals used. Alternatively, you can also just buy it from the market for expensive prices.

Whoa! I have a long long way to go! I guess this what keeps gamers from playing the game. There are always new things to explore especially when you reach the higher level. And Atlantica Online I guess did a pretty good job at it.
As the other posts say, you start off with class D mercenaries and that includes the monk even though you get it form a quest. Now being able to control higher mercenaries, you need to meet the level requirement and you can either do the questline for it for you to be able to have one in your team or you simply buy it from the market which of course is expensive given the long questline for it. What is more expensive is the part where the merc class c or higher is eligible to be upgraded to a higher grade type for the merc where you need most of the time crystals which costs even higher thatn the ashen crystal that you use for class d type mercs.
