Yes, you absolutly could be wrong. There are already about 160,000 accounts in their forums and the game is not even in open beta yet. That means there at least 160k people who are interested in what DF offers. And I would say at least 90% of MMORPG players haven't even heard about DF yet. If it delivers a quality game (industry has been lacking those lately), the word will spread like a wild fire.
Yes, everyone knows that every free forum account created will equal a long-term paying customer. Account numbers are useless. To have a number that would be of any use at all, you will need to count the number of active users (adjusting for any users with multiple accounts). Let me know when you're done counting.
I'd say if the game does come out ever, it will probably stick around 50k - 100k subs, but I could be wrong.

Hmm... 90% haven't heard of it yet? That's a nice big shiny number there... don't suppose you want to tell us how you arrived at that number? Ahh... I see.
About the 160k of accounts on the official forums.
How many of those were created in the last 3-6 months? Those are the ones that will be the most likely to try out Darkfall's free trial and/or Open Beta. How many of those will actually buy the game? Anyone's guess. How many that actually buy it will subscribe past the first 30 days? Again, anyone's guess.
If they have a fantastic release and all the features are in and working as intended... they have a good chance of a very high subscription rate. That however remains to be seen.

Are you two twins or something? Because you seem to be equally stupid. Where did I say those 160k will sub to DF? Or what does it matter when those accounts were created or how many actives there are? Fact is, and pay attention now, 160k people have already shown interest in DF. Which was my whole claim. So how do you figure only 50k-100k will actually buy the game? All this if it proves to be a good game, of course.
That 90% is a rough estimate, I estimated worldwide MMO community to be well over 20 million (11 million WoW players alone, I think) and no more then 2 million know DF. Maybe that's way off, don't really care. Lets just say that vast majority of MMOers have never even heard about DF.

Heh... my, my aren't we a bit touchy?
If you don't like people questioning where you came up with your numbers... perhaps a public forum isn't a good place to post them?
My post was about pointing out that predictions on just how many subscriptions that Darkfall will or will not have is wildly subjective and purely opinion-based. Nobody is in the position to give any numbers that will hold up to any level of credibility.
As your post was proof of:
If you make a post with numbers pulled out of thin air, it will most likely be questioned. Sorry if that upsets you.

problem is that game is just too ugly imo....and im very anal about that kinda stuff.
and im not a fan of fpv..
meh..
will give it a try if it actually does come out...but its a meh for me..
imo the game will do ok...100k subs max i think, which is good compared to most mmorpg made by small companises. they probablt dont have as many costs to cover as biggere companies.
no way this game will do better than wow or even lineage,,, im willing to bet 1 dollar for every sub if it does do better than wow lol
100k? really? over 150k people registered on the site before the game is even in OPEN BETA. 100k haha.

its atleast 90%, I went to my old friends house and her new boyfriend plays WoW all day long.. he hasnt heard of Warhammer Online... that shows a lot i think.. most mmo players have never been to mmorpg.com even
i guess halft those WAR beta players found out it was 90% like wow, so they might as well keep playing wow.
emmm no....
im playin WAR while i wait for DF with my guild....but yea actually many people including myself realize that its just WoW redone since the world RVR has little to no incentive and its a ghost world outside of scenarios most of the time unless you organize an alliance event.
many have gone back to war and/or wont be starting the subcription after trial is up.
shame because the classes in WAR blow WoW out of the water in mechanics and enjoyable gameplay. And the pvp concept was amazing but they didnt come through yet. Hopefully they figure it out sooner than later.
Im just happy i dont have to "settle" for WAR for a pvp mmo....Darkfall thank you very much for renewing my faith.

O.K. I couldn't resist.
Let me see if I follow your logic here... please correct me if it's wrong.
You think that over 90% of MMO players have never heard of Darkfall because...
An old friend's new boyfriend plays WoW all day long (This relates to Darkfall... how?)
He has never heard of WARHAMMER ONLINE (This relates to Darkfall... how?)
Most players have never been to MMORPG.COM (This relates to Darkfall... how?)
This somehow shows a lot (Oh yeah... it shows a lot all right!)
O.K. just for the sake of arguement... let's say I don't buy into your logic above... as convincing as it is.
Could you perhaps elaborate a bit on how from those points above you came to the conclusion that over 90% have never heard of Darkfall? I am a bit more dense than the average poster so you'll have to break it down into more simple terms than your fancy shizzle from above.

That however remains to be seen.
its atleast 90%, I went to my old friends house and her new boyfriend plays WoW all day long.. he hasnt heard of Warhammer Online... that shows a lot i think.. most mmo players have never been to mmorpg.com even
O.K. I couldn't resist.
Let me see if I follow your logic here... please correct me if it's wrong.
You think that over 90% of MMO players have never heard of Darkfall because...
O.K. just for the sake of arguement... let's say I don't buy into your logic above... as convincing as it is.
Could you perhaps elaborate a bit on how from those points above you came to the conclusion that over 90% have never heard of Darkfall? I am a bit more dense than the average poster so you'll have to break it down into more simple terms than your fancy shizzle from above.
