OK, so just to let you know right away there is nothing wrong with you or your computer. WAR lags on a lot of people and I i.e. is unable to play the game. I have stopped subscription and perhaps rather try lie 3 months down the road. This unfortunately means you probably need to wait til your issue sort itself out.

The game has some lag more like stutters for me, but nothing bad to make me quit the game.  I run pretty decent on RvR as well. I did have a video of some massive RvR going on and It was lagged because I forgot I had AAx4 on. But still I was running at like 17 fps with that and had spikes of lower framerates.  I can do PvE and Scenarios with that on and get good frame rates but not massive battles.

Your machine looks like a higher spec then mine except I have the Nvidia 8800 GTS 640MB card.

Several games have issues with certain recent Nvidia cards, but after trawling many different forums posts & trying out all the ingame setting combinations I finally settled on a reasonable compromise.

The main problem seem to be when you allow the graphics card setting to be application controlled, once I forced these to reasonable settings rather than trying to turn them off the game improved a lot. There are lots of different guides & you need to play around a bit but I have given a link to one below.

The other thing that helps me in scenarios is switch to 'Ingame Performance Settings' & use the 'Curse Client' addon 'BuffThrottle'.

I hope the above is helpful to you, it worked for me.

Your specs are fairly good. Should be running fine. I run with

    2.56 GB Ram

Amthalon 3800 (not sure spelling at work )

    Geforce 8500 GT 1 GB

I run the game with next to no lag (Just reformatted before installing WAR) The only time I recieve lag is when everyone in a scenario casts at the same time lol. But its minor, maybe a split second worth.

Maybe Leakage. Try running a system scan. Use CTRL + ALT + DEL and check your apps that are running. You would be suprised sometimes what is running (internet explorer apps always run after windows closed, camera software, music player, list goes on)

The other thing is are you running Vista? If you are that would be the other thing. Vista OS requires ALOT of resources. It sucks.

    Enjoy : )

yes im running with a 64-bit vista

Well vista will get ya :).

But try lowerign the video settings, and more so what effects you see (try to do party or self).

Defraging the hard drive may help if that is the issue.

    I don't know guys.....

I have a quad core, xp profesional,  with 4 gb ram (one goes to waste...), and a 4870 onboard. And the comp is brand new.

When always on a keep fight if there are 30+ people on screen the game becomes a slideshow. This usually happens in the keep lords room. It's not gamebreaking but it certainly annoying since I can't enjoy the climax of the fight.

I honestly don't think that its my computer's fault. Vsync and AA are turned off. More people in my guild are having these issues. I will try some of the suggestions in this topic but I don't know what else to do.

Lets hope this is something in the developers to do list

Sounds like a hardware compatablity or driver issue.

TRY d/l lastest drivers for your vid and sounds cards (even if the sound is integrated).

They have alot of options in the video config try them out.

Honestly, i have a 4 year old computer with a 3 year old video card that hardly lags if at all.  OC the cpu (honestly, everyone should)

Here is a great guide to get the mac OC, however, i suggest not getting max set a simple and easy goal and get it and keep happy.

    http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/showthread.php?t=261409

ps for your processer 2.8-3.0 is a simple and easy oc to hit.

Id avoid video card OCs becuasae they get crazy (As they run hot, and if you want it done right you need to build a cooling scheme for them).

Honestly tho your cpu in 1 of its cores has my old cpus power and war will use 3.5 threads at least .... So you have 3.5 times the cpu i do, in my old set (the thing is it doesn't use each of the max of those cores, but still try updating drivers and messing around with you video settings.)

MAdmax where you ina  warband , there is a known bug with their buff/debuff process the buff limter or whatever its call listed above improves this largely.

Luckly for me i have my system config to the point were it eats warhammer with forced aa as maxed out.
