Aha! I found a drawback. The servers are a bit 'busy' for my liking. Although with my OCD, I have chars on multiple servers, my home server had a queue. Granted it was only 39 people, but I still had to wait a minute to get in. I'm not looking forward to the influx of lollerskater powerlevelers when the expansion hits, but dems the breaks. I should instead seek ways to grow the guild and work to find good economic niche markets because of it.
Hmmm... Are the improvements good enough to reopen my account?
It really depends on how much you'd enjoyed the game when you played it. If you really liked it but there was nothing new, I'd say re-sub for a month.....
Well...I loved the game. Been playing since '04. Don't have a problem with change, depending on what the change...change refreshes the game play. I started playing WoW after the infamous NGE and having my class/Prof completely removed from the game.
Honestly, the only reason I left WoW was because they seemed to be trending towards PvP and arena. I never complained about PvP'rs getting things with patches when others didn't get, or got very little improvements. My ONLY complaint was that they made it nearly impossible to run the normal 5 man instances. When you log in after a patch and you find youself getting PWND in instances that you were used to running on a casual basis. it's wrather disconcerting. Understand that my toon was Kara geared and our guild was running Kara on a regular basis. I now how to play my 70 hunter...well my PvP sux but for PvE I know how to play my toon. Maybe I'm still a little gun shy from NGE...but when I see them making such changes I get a little nervous.
It just kinda took the fun out of the game when you get a group of friends together for a quick run and wind up with 20-30G repair bills O.o
I've seen things, you...people, wouldn't believe... . Attack ships on fire, off the shoulder of Orion... . I watched C-Beams, glitter in the darkness near the Tannhauser Gate... . All those...moments will be lost in time... . Like...tears...in the rain... Time to die..... Roy Batty Blade Runner
As a warlock I am quite satisfied with my personal build that I tested out from beta. I decided to be heavy destruction where there is a rotation that makes the spec more fun and really put in some good quick burst if you got it right. I was pulling some top-notch dps and was competing with dps warriors and mages at some points. It's pretty sick what dps warriors can do in raids. Other than that, I need to test more with pvp as I have done sooo little due to achievements are quite addicting haha.
Anyways, the biggest positive feedback is the fact that tanks are just doing bad ass threat that I can literally go all out with Vigilence buff on me (gives my own 10% damage to tank's additional threat). The only issue with my lock is the lack of getting enough time to do quick damage combos since mobs die so quickly now lol but I guess expac will fix that haha. No need much for soulshatter unless I go seed some trash haha. AoE raiding it feels like.
Stacking buffs and raid-wide buffs make it possible to reach some super high raid dps and not only that it benefits both sides of the pot (healers and dpsers). I say its really cool that we dont have to stack classes and we been taking diverse classes that weren't popular pre-patch. Killing bosses are a joke from Kara to BT but sunwell is so-so if you have good people avoiding stuff.
Inscription is really the money maker atm and I am making tons of gold doing it but man 20 hours to get minor glyphs is gonna be a pain I guess but I cannot complain since enchanters have to play with lady luck to drop theirs. Thumbs up here if you can handle the wait.
In terms of bugs or issues I say its very stable after day 1 and known reports are quickly responded and some are already in the new beta patch to tweak more. I do believe the biggest issue is losing mounts and some achievements not counting despite having items but other than that it's been clean so far.
The negative side is the fact that it made things very easy. Maybe a bit too easy you can say. Blizzard is very forgiving in this patch by letting unfortunate players and casuals get a chanse to raid T6 content quickly but I know that I might as well deal with the easymode ride through Sunwell and other farmed instances. Another problem is probably AH jacking prices with achievements going out of control and lack of good stuff on AH anymore but depends by server. Lastly, there are minor bugs with certain items with uses that doesnt work but i'm a pot freak so it sucks lol.
To add on about the patch: Anyone notice how many people are in MC, BWL, and AQ20/40? Feels like vanilla WoW days. I guess achievements really convince a lot of people to look back and drive back to azeroth to explore all areas and let people see it all. I think Blizzard did a good job convincing people to go back and bring more activity in those areas. (must be even more fun on a pvp server ganking BRM) :P

For level 70's, right now it's a lot of preparing. The new talent tree takes some study. Got to decide on glyphs and predict what the new world on Nov. 13th will bring. There's a few new things to look at and change about your character (even hairstyle) as well as the achievement system. Achievements are surprisingly fun, it encourages having goals other than merely beating stuff up. For example, I like the challenge of exploring a whole zone and earning the achievement. It tells you what you've explored, what else there's to explore to gain the achievement, announces to the guild when done and you get points. Currently the points have no value, but I'm getting the hint that they will be worth something soon. Overall, I'm a PVE'er and will PvP if necessary for gear. I think it's worth checking out and Wrath will open up a whole new world for us 70 PVE'ers.
It feels like WoW, It looks like WoW and it plays like WoW. Great for those with OCD imo. I think it is a good patch considering the turn around on Blizzard's content release technique. Gamers are dying for something new and refreshing and sadly this is not it, but it is polished. Yeay!
Why would WoW, of all the games on the market, pull an NGE and completely remake the game in a patch?
I mean were you awake for the NGE debacle? You don't do that, and you 10,000 times don't do that when you have, say, the most successful MMO ever.
In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own.
My impression is it blows chunks, I kept a couple of accounts active because my daughter likes to play the game and I would go into the game with her when she played. The problem is this, I let my daughter use an older computer and this patch has gone beyond its capabilities and simply will no longer load. I worked with one of Blizzards Tech types and after a 30 minute wait on the phone and about 10 minutes of actual live tech support time I was informed that the computer, its software and hardware would not work with the new graphics engine.
So in one fell swoop we were forced out of the game, for me thats no big loss but my daughter isn't very happy about it. Now I'm not about to go out and drop more coin on a new computer just to go back and play WoW. If I do purchase a new computer we'll be starting up with a new game. So way to go Blizzard, thanks for giving me a concrete reason to finally leave WoW.

I have a similiar situation, daughter plays on an older computer. I had a bit of an issue because the expansion requires more hard-drive space. Although I was able to clear enough, worse case scenario would've been to buy a new hard drive (about $30-$50). Other than that, I hadn't seen any change in system requrements and it ran the same - no change to graphics, gameplay, etc. I don't know of any good reason to just "go buy a new computer" and believe you were given poor advice. They should've been able to tell you specifically what needed to be upgraded and to upgrade that component. I'd be wary if I had a bad fuel pump and a mechanic tells me to "go buy a new car".
Anyone else know of other system requirement changes?
Pretty good, loving the hunter and paladin changes, yet to get myself an exotic pet, but I think I'll roll another hunter for that so I don't bork my main one.
Just wish there wasn't so many people on my server (Caelestrasz) lag seems to have gotten worse...
still playable though, can't wait for wrath :-)
Sick of playing Entropia Universe? Want to quit, but don't want your hard earned money to vanish? Give your items to ME :-)
Broke pvp and class balance really hard. Oh high pop servers have not been playable 39% of the time becuase of thsi and last prepatch.
But its new class content and thats good.

ya, that's one downside to offering such a huge amount of new content. The servers are naturally going to have some issues. Just last night on Frostwolf i couldn't get into any instance for a good 3 hours due to complications with the instancing. BG's were also down. Lucky for most people it was late in the day so most of the schedualed raids that may have been going on that day would more than likely have already happend before the instance crash.
"Whoever said 'honesty is the best policy' didn't have a girlfriend with a fat @$$"
Glyphs are pretty cool indeed. Instead of overcomplicating the talent tree, these are like 'armor kits' for spells / talents. I had a friend say "ye want summae ther glyphs?" (he's dwarven) to which I gratefully accepted. It was like being a kid in a candy store. I'm very fortuntate that my main is a warrior because Titan's Grip is awesome: being able to carry a two-handed weapon in each hand! Now this expansion needs to come out so I can get some better axes.
..What? What is a glyph.. why can TWO handed weapons be worn twice in both ONE hands...?
Well it messed up Mazzle. Other then that its aight.
Is Mazzle a mod?
I had to re-do Auctioneer with the lastest version and Gatherer as well. I'm getting used to re-installing these, but am happy nothing was lost on FlagRSP2. I was ready though, having all my descriptions saved on an MS Word doc just in case they vanish.
Just wish there wasn't so many people on my server (Caelestrasz) lag seems to have gotten worse... still playable though, can't wait for wrath :-)
It is crowded and an occasional lag but nothing that long or messing up combat. The influx of people has caused a one minute queue, but that's not so bad. Also looking forward to Wrath despite this drawback.
..What? What is a glyph.. why can TWO handed weapons be worn twice in both ONE hands...?
A glyph is a modification to a spell / talent in your spellbook. For example, one Glyph gives your Heroic Strike extra damage. You have a limit of 2 major glyphs (until you reach 80) and 3 minor glyphs. This allows you to pump up the buttons you press most in combat. I like this because I tend to have my favorite combo and glyphs enhance their effectiveness instead of there being only one 'perfect combo'.
Titan's Grip is the last talent available in the Fury Warrior talent tree that allows two two-handers to be used by warriors. There's a 15% penalty for chance on hit, but it should come out in the warrior's favor wih the extra damage. Thing is right now it doesn't really have a use unless you want to battleground / raid for a 2nd epic two-hander. Probably best to just have the talent and upon release go to Northrend and make the switch from 2 one-handers to 2 two-handers.
I was a bit unclear in my post, Titan's Grip is a talent, not a glyph. Apologies for the confusion.
