From experience of the Secondlife Teen Grid.
Secondlife may no longer be worth playing anymore for a few simple reasons.
When a group of people, or over 20 people report abuse on you for no reason, Your account gets suspended/Terminated for no reason, without evidence provided, and put on hold. Your account most likely never gets looked at, as for my account, I was accused by a group in secondlife of Illegally Copybotting their objects. Yet there is no evidence to provide, no snapshots of it happening, No Videos, No Object in Secondlife to prove so.
I lost my account with over $1,000 USD in Items + Other purchases made on secondlife, and this is what happens when you play, and trust linden labs to actually do something, or investergate something. Your account really never gets looked at, all you get is a termination email, and banned.
Although their Terms OF Service says they have the right to do so for any reason.

welcome to overserious drama of people who have convinced themselves that it's not a game, or atleast bytes on a hard drive.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
As much as I love to trash second life... I think you would probably get a similar experience anywhere you went on the internet. Not just games or MMOs either (of which Second Life my be neither, depending on how you look at it) but pretty much any kind of "service" on the internet will have a ToS that allows them to ban you without giving a reason or having any evidence to back up their reason if they do decide to provide one.
I got banned from AOL about 15 years ago in a similar fashion. I actually did deserve it but the funny part is that when I was harassing just one or two people at a time, nobody cared. When I started trolling entire chat rooms all at once and got reported by 20+ people all at the same time I got banned pretty fast. Thats like your story. When you get reported by a huge number of people for something (even if you didn't do it) you pretty much are going to have something bad happen to you.
I recall a similar story on Livejournal in the past. Not only did they have a public ToS that allowed them to ban whoever they wanted but they also had a "Secret Policy Document" which was the list of reasons why their moderators were allowed to ban people without having to give a reason to the public.
This sort of thing happens everywhere, sadly. Moderators are almost always corrupt and almost never give a crap about anyone but themselves.
The History of the Order of The Golden Shields
True they apparently dont give a crap, because its been over one week since the account Termination, and they never really ever look into cases that are falsely accused, lied, or slandered about.
It was a guild/Group problem in secondlife, They decided to start a rumor based on some false evidence handed out, and of course a group reports you they believe it. Truth is I would like to sue them for money losses, but you know how much it isnt worthit when you throw only $800 down the drain within a few months on a virtual game you never get it back or anything.
On the other had my account is still under investergation today XD, but everyone knows how those go they never get looked at.
Also other good news I kinda Got 3 of their members banned perm. From secondlife for breaking the rules/TOS for real, and lying + their group will soon come to a halt, as well as all my friends leaving. Gee all this Drama XD.
I've watched people lose $2,000 US dollars worth of stuff over a night because the asset servers can't be kept stable.
I've also lost all the original source code for one of my commercial projects because the text files went poof. The bytecode still works though and I have no reason to update it.
