You need Excel to open it.

When you open it go to the solar system tab (each solar system can take anywhere from two weeks to 2 months of straight flying without warp) and see how many Solar Systems they have.

Give ya a hunt..more than 5000 lol.  And each solar system is a fully functional system that contains bases, starports, Agents, Corporations, Asteroid Belts, Jump gates, Pirates, etc.

But check it out

hmm.. well, this is a player made alliance map, showing which player alliances have territorial claims and where they have it... Every little dot u see in the map is solar systems u can visit. A total of approx 5000. This version is, however, flatten but can be viewed and rotated in full 3d in game, looks even more impressive then :)

Flying across a solarsystem without warp would take real life CENTURIES, not weeks or months, since most solarsystems are tens of AU across, some even reach a few hundred. (AU = average distance of Earth to Sun; 1 Astronomical Unit = 149 598 000 000 meters).

Even if your could sustain 10km/s indefinately, and supposing you were flying just 1AU, it would take:

    149 598 000km / 10km/s = 14 959 800 seconds
    14 598 800 seconds / 3600 = 405.5 hours
    405.5 hours / 24 = 16.89 months = almost a year and a half. EVE hasn't even been out for that long.

Hmmm...I don't think many of us actually care how long it would really take in real life. But thanks for letting us know. ::::28::

Actually it takes 388 years to do so without warp. lol, and yes the DEVs said this.

However you would still need to use jumpgates

ugh.. Hope your math teacher doesn't see that one.. First line is correct. then it starts to fall appart.

    14 598 800s / 3600 =~ 4 055.00 hours

4 055 hours / 24 =~ 169 days  (When you split on 24 your denomination should be days. to get months you would have to further divide by 30, or 30.5 for the better average.)

    169 days / 30.5 = 5,5409836065573770491803278688525 months.

    169 days / 30 = 5,6333333333333333333333333333333 months

    Still impressive though.

    Shouldn't that be 16.89 days?  There aren't 24 days in a month.

LOL funny thing is I know several players who think the Devs are lying thru their teeth on this one and sending alts with Rifters with 10MN MWDs from a solar sytem adjacent to Jove space into Jove space. Last time I talked to one of them, he'd had his alt zipping along for over six months, and the screen still indicated he was in the same system.

I'm sure CCP is thanking these guys for their extra subscriptions, but I gotta warn ya that the devs are not lying on this matter, right now on tranquility you just can't do it without gates, at least inside a year of traveling. I have a couple bets going on how long these guys will keep it up and whether there is an info window that pops up eventually giving either an error message or a message of futility when they get far enough out.

That means without jumpgates 388 times or lol too many millinia to travel across to anywhere .

Lol nice calculations there...I doubt anyone would try it out as it could just take a bit too long and ever so slightly pointless. But other than that small fact very interesting.
