it really depends on your server. I don't agree with others that PvE is bad or that no one is doing it. I often see others and sometimes group with them to get things done in PvE. While it isn't the focus of the game, there's lots of it, especially when you take into account the fact that there are three different groupings that any player can play in.

I mean, I'm not shouting from the rooftops that WAR's PvE is tha bestest thing evah, I'm just saying that it's not bad and may be worth a shot for you.

On a related note, I've never been a fan of PvP either, but I've been enjoying myself in WAR. Generally, i PvE, doa  scenario here or there and then hit the open RvR zones when I'm on during peak hours. I'm actually enjoyinjg PvP for the first time.

as far as pvp in the game  unless  you like running scenarios(WOW bg's) you will not like WAR

RVR lakes were always empty and ali i did to gain levels was pve see above about the pve

any way haven't played WOW in 2 years and decided to renew after playing WAR

    PVE is fine.

Is it a major improvement over WoW? no.

Is it boring? It's PVE! Your milage may vary.

Public Quests can be grindy if you are the only one there, but when there are other players around to help, it get's exciting.

Some of the PVE is in the RvR zones, so that is pretty exciting also. Looking over your shoulder for that Lvl 11 tank who is going to kill your lvl 7 magic user, keeps you on your toes.

If you quit WoW because you're bored of it then WAR's PvE will probably drive you suicidal. Its just as boring as WoW and believe it or not the AI of the mobs is even more simplistic. It does have Public Quests though which are a nice addition but they are dependant on other players being around and....well....good luck with that. You can of course grind away at the early stages of a PQ but you will be bored silly as you literally just kill the same thing over and over again. Very tedious.

The main focus of WAR is scenarios (exactly the same as WoW's battlegrounds) and occasionally open RvR if you can find the ones that arent devoid of players. Apparently I have heard that the open RvR areas in higher tiers see more action but I have yet to see anything note worthy.

But yes you can actually play through the game doing only PvE......just dont expect anything exciting to come your way.

I find that theres a great deal of PVE to be had. Pick a well populated server so you can finish some PQs.  Also, in the RvR areas you have PVE monsters that you can kill to take Control Points to assist in world buffs for your realm.

People don't give the PVE in this game enough credit.  No this PVE isn't much different then any other games PVE.  The quests are pretty much the same, the rewards are pretty much the same.  The PQs add a nice change of pace, and in the later PQs the objects to complete them change so its not always "Kill MonsterX" to complete the PQ.

However, I wasn't one for PvP either until I played this game.. they make it a very easy, light hearted, fun experience to PVP, even if it isn't your mainstay, you may find that it gives that extra oomph that you might just keep coming back for.

The most important thing you can do right now is pick a server with a healthy population at primetime.  The game is really empty on medium servers in the lower portion of the game right now.

As for the quality of the PvE.

There are many many many solo quests you can do.  Some have a decent storyline, many don't or are just the same story rehashed.  Like someone above said, mobs in this game lack any decent AI and are very trivial.

Public quests are neat to fun if you find enough people to do them, but often they are empty making them boring.

You won't find much in the way of dungeon crawling at all.

You will spend the majority of time running back and forth while doing PvE type stuff.  I'm not saying travel times are long in the game, which they can be sometimes, but you do more footwork turning in quests, running to objectives than the amount of time you spend actually "doing" the objectives.  I would guess that 50-75% of my time spent in PvE is time spent traveling.

There are a lot of people who said they don't enjoy PvP and only like PvE stuff that have come to enjoy the PvP in Warhammer after trying it.  I have yet to see the PvP crowd say anything about Warhammer turning them into avid PvE players.

You dont' go to RvR lakes to gain levels you go to gain Renown Ranks (you gain way more RP in RvR lakes than you do in Scenarios), push back the other side, and gain zone control for bonus's to your realm.  At high level you go to the RvR lakes for Keep control, guild keep owner ship, and protecting your city from the enemy since yes the enemy at T4 if they meet the requiremetns can attempt to throw you out of your city and set it on fire .. literally.

The RvR lakes in T1 and sometimes T2 is a symptom of the horrendous chat system which has been done away with.  I've seen alot more people mounting up and giong after enemy control points...of course ... it kinda sucks to want to RvR when your Realm controls everything so you end up hiding off somewhere waiting for ORder to ninja it so you can fight for it back.

Everyone's still figuring out the game, what classes they like, and where al the gear etc is..once most people from launch reach T4..and i've already seen it happen several tiems more focus on the RvR lakes will happen if anyone wants end game.

(you get pretty much nada in gear sets from Scenarios so i have no idea why people focus so hard on them other than for some xp which is stupid i gained way more xp in a shorter time from doing PQ and without all the frustration plus I had 3 blue drops).

War was built for pvp, the pve in it is prolly the worst pve you'll find in any MMO out there, but if your looking for good PVE you really shouldnt be looking at War anyways

thanks all for the replys, i notice the ratio of ppl that said pve is good vs pve isnt great in war is almost even so i guess it comes down to play style.

    thanks again all

Wait for a free trial, PQ's are fun, but as people rush towards the high level you won't be getting many of those finished or even other quests, i'm on a high pop server Phoenix Throne and for alot of PQ's i had to wait for days and days till i could find people to want to do them =(...i see lots of people going back high level to finish quests which is sad, they should have been able to do them from the get go.

there are plenty of  redundant run of the mill fetch and kill quests in WAR to keep you busy for quite some time. Even the so called "RVR" quests later turn out to be pretty much PVE quests since any players who might have been there to keep you from completing them are more likely off grinding scenarios.

Plenty of PvE in the form of quests and PQ's...unfortunately the dungeon content is severely lacking, and this is one of my favorite aspects of MMO's.
