it would be perfectly normal for people to suspect the first two posters were full of it given ones posting history and the others lack of. The only thing missing is their FC dev team email address.
Yeah How dare anyone say anything Positive on these forums. And even more so right after they register. I guess the rules are never register On mmorpg because your opinion wont be valid and don't say anything positive if, god forbid, you do register.
In my opinion, Conan is a good game, It is getting better. To me it seemed it got the Napoleon Dynamite effect of people hating it. It was the cool thing to do. (Which is why such a terrible movie was so popular)

AoC has nowhere to go but up. I think in the anals of MMO history this game will be remembered as a 'WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN RELEASING AN MMO' kinda thing. I mean there should be a class in the game design school about AoC and how NOT to treat customers, how NOT to allow rabid fanbois moderation privledges. How NOT to have your CSR's having cyber with the customers. How NOT to ban people experimenting with the new PVP system you created. Stand on a rock = BAN, I mean at a time when people were leaving the game en masse, was it the best approach to ban people standing in a wheat field during pvp?
There were just so many things done wrong. The game was hyped and released in what FUNCOM had to know was a terrible state. Then when people complained FUNCOM ignored them and when people started to demand action they simply deleted the posts, moved the posts, or banned the user.
Four months after release and nearly 90% of the crowd gone from launch they finally take drastic action and run their game director out of the industry. People that say that AoC is great etc etc... I just cant see that, I mean the same people saying its great are the ones saying GIVE THE NEW GUY TIME....
So which is it? How can the game be GREAT when the Game Director was run out of the industry on rails just about 1 month ago? I mean there must have been something wrong if that happened, right? I mean you cant have it both ways boys.

It's out of issues like this that AoCExposed.4-Playerz.Com was born. To many paying customers were being ignored, served infractions for speaking up, or flat out banned for ridiculous reasons. Apparently someone finally got fed up with the ridiculous censorship and created a place for players to speak up without fear of the message being dismissed or heavily censored. Check it out.
Ah, there it is, the main theme of propaganda, straight from their marching orders on the AoC forum.
Unless someone has played within the last week or two, their opinion is worthless, since it's now a "whole new game" since the patch in mid-September. Or something like that.
The patch didn't make it a new game, or change the game at its foundation, as the propagandists want everyone to believe. It's still the same flawed design.

You say flawed designed I say something new. If you didn't want to play an instanced game you shouldn't of bought AoC in the first place. Everyone was informed that it would be instanced before launch. And yes, if you haven't been keeping up with the game since 2.0 you wouldn't be aware of the progress and increase communication. And to my knowledge no one got banned from the forums they simply lost forum rights for unsubscribe.

Lol, your knowledge is wrong. Many people got banned from making negative (not bashing) threads when AoC did their forum "cleansing".

Well if it matters any, which it doesn't tbh, I would of done the same thing if thats all these people who got banned from the forums did.
There are plenty of of neg post on the forums that are simply Failcom sucks peace and thoes people weren't banned. They aren't the forum nazis that people try to make them out to be. They just follow the fourm rules. Is it right? No, but its their right to do so just like its the people who run the waralliance forums right to delete and lock threads that are of the same calibur.
With people like you two it wouldnt suprise me if it was his last post. You hate a game so much that you have to hate anyone that likes it?? Why not find a game you like instead of hating others for ones they like?
Whoa there kiddy. First of all please tell me where I have EVER mentioned that I hated AoC? I have the game sitting right on my desk and currently play it along with 2 other MMOs that I enjoy.
Think before you speak, what we said previous happens almost every day here on MMORPG. "People" I use quotation marks because its probably game representives, register here make a "this game is great post" and then you don't hear from them again.
I gotta agree with him though actually I had noticed it myself alot of the posts I see started saying how much this game rocks for some strange reason that was beyond the noob in me had less than ten posts, but really you guys need to think if he is in fact gearing up to start a flame war it wouldn't start if no one responded to him but anyway I assure you you would find it interesting how often the people who post positive reviews about this game have extremely low post count and post almost the same generic review of the current state of the game.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
well the other thing is, not everyone lurks on these game boards looking to stick their opinion in every smelly opinion that pops up... some people just post when they have something to say they care about...

And in general I like those posts better. Posts with no content as in, yepp lets cut and paste some stuff somebody said like 2 months back, is completely useless. Still you see those posts all the time from some of the professordudes that try to be so GD smart all the time.

Actually I can say they have been on a bit of the forum Nazi side. There were waves of server merge threads. Many got locked , moved or deleted. The standard reply was there is no need for server merges and there will not be server merge's. The day after the 52 page server merge petition thread dissapeared after one of the mods posted that there will be no server merge's, making another thread about this topic will warrent a warning ect. the new GD made an announcement that they were working on howing to do server merge's lol. Yes I can understand why many posts and threads get deleted or locked or moved. But much of what the mods have deleted, moved or locked broke the rules in no way shape or form. Honestly a simple goodbye thread that doesn't flame or anything but merely says I left because I ran out of things to do, see you guys around gets moved, locked, or deleted when a post that says I am leaving, the game was great but I am having money troubles so goodbye I hope to see you guys again soon is left untouched by the Mods.
If one post is against the rules because of it's subject matter then ALL posts are against the rules regarding that same subject matter. Favortisim towards posts that you agree with and deletion, moving or locking posts and threads that do NOT break the rules is what has many crying fowl! Until recently threads bashing War were allowed to stay in GD while posts and threads praising War were not. This makes sense to who?
You can say what you like by the mods on the official forrums have been a bit over zealous and unproffesional and do NOT go by the rules. They go by there personal feelings on the matter and disregard the rules as they and the GM's both feel they are above them. This happens when you do not have proffesional moderation or staff. They feel they can do what the please and make up the rules as they go along because they are volunteering there time and are in no way proffessionals.
Claim it doesn't happen all you want but the truth is that it does, it has gotten better for the simple fact they caught flak for doing exactly what they have been accused of doing and HAVE been addressed about doing it and reprimanded. I've seen them do it on a regular basis before the chit started hitting the fan as have many others. Now it's not as bad by any means but it still does happen on occasion.

What you describe is simply not true. AoC forums are in very good shape and most posts quite usefull and actually related to the game. If you are looking for exceptions however, I know of a few. Let me present to you the latest of these posters. There is a guy called fluorineAoC (alias LibertasPlz in MMORPG) he probably opens like +4 population discussion threads pr day. Naturally most of these get merged because its from the same poster on the same topic. Now tell me, what is the problem with that? When a thread dies, it's because the topic is not of interest to the forum population anymore. It is wrong to rget the attention back by starting a new thread on the identical topic in rehash mode. there is no value/benefit in that. People that can't read or understand the forum guidelines must get their stuff moderated as appropriate. Other wise anyone could screw up a forum in a second. Let's do a though experiment. What do you think would happen if I started 4 threads pr day over here on the same topic, lets say "Age of Conan have good population umbers and here is why". Well I probably get warning after a day or two, threads would probably be merged or deleted while I eventually would get banned.
You say flawed designed I say something new. If you didn't want to play an instanced game you shouldn't of bought AoC in the first place. Everyone was informed that it would be instanced before launch.

I agree the forums are better since the mods were repremanded. The point is that doesn't change what happend and what occasionaly still happens. I said that many that say the over zealous moderation and biased moderation hasn't and doesn't occasionaly still happen are being untruthful. Well you agree and at the same time say there is something special about them in a negative way. My claim is they are just another forum and they are doing reasonably well.
I have 2 subs on EVE and one on AoC and I havent played EVE for at least a month. Glad you enjoy it. I am finding myself enjoying it more and more which is a nice change from getting more bored with a game. The latest patch and the stability now has made a massive difference. I seriously cant remember the last time I had CTD or lag spike. Its almost like they flicked a switch and that annoying CTD issue just disappeared. Then the PvP minigames came in and I am finding myself enjoying them and it now gives a real PvP outlet for solo players. Plus its great practice as well if you are into guild vs guild. The last thing I have to say is that the game does have a feeling of danger about it. Even today I was hunted down by a higher level player (ranger) and she managed to blow my hiding cover. However being an assassin I snuck back out and followed her in sneak mode only to hack her down as she was happily wandering around. Moments like that make PvP fun and interesting. Better still I whispered her and said I would be plaguing her all day then wandered off on my own adventure but knowing she would be looking over her shoulder for a while. FUN

I will admit I do hold a bit of negativity towards the moderators on the AoC board, it wasn't due to personal misstreatment but the misstreatment I have seen of others that I haven't witnessed on an official forums before. I actually personaly know 2 people that quit AoC due to the treatment they recieved from GM's and moderators on the official forums. These people are there customer service reps and have done a very poor job until recently. While things are admittably better when they do make a slip it is very noticable due to past mistakes which is why they are treated a bit harsher by myself and some others. It is compairable to other forums now, but past mistakes make every slip a painful reminder and fuel the fire for many.
The point of this post and my previous in this thread was to point some of the above out due to the fact many seem to think much of this is unwarrented because it hasn't happend to them. Many have a different view on this because it has happend to them and others they know. The fact remains they messed up big time in the beggining of things and only recently have made a turn around. They do still slip because there are human, they are simply held to a different standard than other moderators due to blantant abuse of there power in the past.
I have said I won't deny they are doing better, but I have also said I won't forget past missdeads. Those that do not know history are doomed to repeat it I believe is a saying which is moderetly applicable here.

In my opinion, Conan is a good game, It is getting better. To me it seemed it got the Napoleon Dynamite effect of people hating it. It was the cool thing to do. (Which is why such a terrible movie was so popular)

I mean you cant have it both ways boys.

when was the last time you played lumache?
Ive logged on from time to time to find my server a wasteland.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

I heard there were lawsuits already cooking against FunCom
Lol, your knowledge is wrong. Many people got banned from making negative (not bashing) threads when AoC did their forum "cleansing".

Well if it matters any, which it doesn't tbh, I would of done the same thing if thats all these people who got banned from the forums did.
There are plenty of of neg post on the forums that are simply Failcom sucks peace and thoes people weren't banned. They aren't the forum nazis that people try to make them out to be. They just follow the fourm rules. Is it right? No, but its their right to do so just like its the people who run the waralliance forums right to delete and lock threads that are of the same calibur.

yeah, it does seem to be getting better and better, I really like it, it's a great game

Lol, your knowledge is wrong. Many people got banned from making negative (not bashing) threads when AoC did their forum "cleansing".

I agree the forums are better since the mods were repremanded. The point is that doesn't change what happend and what occasionaly still happens. I said that many that say the over zealous moderation and biased moderation hasn't and doesn't occasionaly still happen are being untruthful. You can't change what I witnessed for myself on many occasions lol. Again I have agreed they are better.
