I just got my character creation disks and it told me that my geforce 4 mx420agp card wasnt supported. I was hoping I would be able to scrape by but to no avail!
So I thought I would leave a little message here letting you all know that this card isnt good enough, so if you have anything like this get a new one before game releases to save a lot of stress the day it goes live

The GeForce FX is programmable with Cg scripting that's not available on previous GeForce cards. That's why all the new games coming out require FX.
The funny thing is ...the geforce 4 cards ...are one of the few Nvidia cards not supported, I believe in the Geforce3 works, although it would look rather terrible!

I have a GeForce 4 Ti4800 128MB and the CC disk ran for me. I think the issue is the "MX" series cards, because as far as I am aware, all of the "MX" cards are essentially one level below what they are listed as, in other words, a GeForce4 MX is essentially a GeForce 3 and a GeForce3 MX is essentially a GeForce 2.
I'm hoping I can at least run the game on my Ti4800 to buy me time to upgrade my video card..
I have a GeFOrce 4 mx 440 128 mb and they said that it is supported on that SoE system scan thingy.
Everquest 2 for the WIN!
Bush for the WIN!
I've tried two different cards on the Character Creation disk using Windows XP.
GeForce 4 Ti4800 -> Give the Blue Screen of Death occasionally. Other times it appears to work but after too much clicking on changing your character looks, the screen will start flashing at you until you exit. I've played around with a lot of settings and get one of the two situations.
GeForce FX 5200 -> Works fine except I can't see the changes on the main hair color for any race. I can change highlights, but the main color seems fixed.
GeForce FX 5900 working fine.

The nvidia MX series of cards is NOT supported for EQ2. The reason for this is that you MUST have a card that supports Vertex and Pixel shaders. The MX series does not support these options and as such will not work with EQ 2.
The following nvidea cards are supported:
GF3
GF4 (NOT THE MX LINE)
GF FX
GF 6800
From the eqii faq: http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=faq&message.id=12
Does that include the Nvidia GeForce MX line of cards?
Unfortunately the GeForce 4 MX cards are not supported because they do not have pixel and vertex shaders.
good list Deankey thank you,
I ran out and got a geforce 6800 agp, it appears to be working really well.
Which drivers were you using on the Ti4800? I'm running the 6.1.7.7 driver and it works fine. The only time I had an issue with it was when my firewall was up and blocking traffic. When that happened, I just got a black screen and it wouldnt start. I couldn't ALT-TAB out so I had to force a hard reboot.
