is it just me or did Chris Fields just describe the Echo base thing like a raid instance common in the modern MMO's which used to seperate SWG from them?
I was shocked how everyone cheered when they announced free expansions.
Watching people cheer as their games are slowly converted from subscription based to RMT is just sad. Although watching SOE give something away for free is very shocking.
Bigger cheers for EQ/EQ2 stuff, not so much of a cheer on SWG, I think most of the fans that attended was there for EQ/EQ2. Listen to the crowd's cheers again on each of the subjects.
Well, the most interesting thing I noticed was; "Join THOUSANDS of players..........." Not 100s of thousands, not even 10s of thousands. Guess thats a decent verification of the population of SWG as of that date. 1 - 10 thousand. $OE's SWG, celebrating 5 years of CHANGES and running the playerbase off to other games. Amazeing.
When I left for good over a year ago I'd have guessed the subs at about 20K. The cries for server merges is even louder today so it has to be far closer to 10K or maybe even under it.
Of course SOE can "claim" higher numbers than that, mostly due to the liberal use of "fuzzy math" coming mostly from re-activating all inactive accounts every 3 months or so, which allows them to technically count them as "open".
I watched the video. Gee, that guy talking actually thinks he's accomplished something with SWG. Or that SWG making it to 5 years in a wheelchair with 4 amputated limbs whilst on a respirator is an actual milestone to celabrate or something. At least its penis still works. Bend over for Smed.

And an om-nom-nom?
What a sickening video. Smed is trash.
Wow....Chris Fields characterizes the last five years for SWG as a success. I wonder what his idea of a failure would be.
Cool, that video made me want to try the game out thanks!

Lies...all I hear are lies!
Lies...all I hear are lies!
Come now, they seem on the level to me.
Video of Darth Smed taking questions from the players !!!!

I played SWG for 2.5 years. I learned that when SOE talks of "love" it means you have to bring your own lube.

Yet, oddly enough, I now have the lyrics to Tainted Love running through my head.
