Indeed it is. This could be the final pinprick that pops the last of the air out of the NGE. After today, even the fanbois have to know that there is NO prospect of a future out of it, and depending on how close they are to alpha/beta testing of SWTOR this could be measured in weeks to months. We just don't know.
But we do know they've been working on it since late 2005, and are using a game engine (Hero) that is prebuilt with the purpose of greatly reducing the dev cycle of a new MMO. My thinking is that LEC has held up the announcement of this game until as late in the cycle as possible so as to AVOID killing off the remnants of the NGE, so that they could milk the remaining pennies out of it.
Depending on how detailed the presentation is, and how close they say they are to release, the NGE could start seeing it's largest percentage drop in subs since NGE Day in the coming days to weeks.
(can't say largest drop in subs in absolute terms because the NGE doesn't have anywhere near as many subs TO LOSE these days as they lost in the waning weeks of 2005).
It's in roughly 4 hours if I got the conversions right. So...GMT 9PM I think.
Ah nice. Thanks.
I can get my warm milk and cookies ready in preparation.
Hmmm...I will either have a bit of champagne to celebrate, or resort to some high-fat/high-carb comfort food and go to bed early feeling utterly disappointed.

If you're in the UK, don't forget we're still BST atm
...The spread of secondary and latterly of tertiary education has created a large population of people, often with well developed literary and scholarly tastes, who have been educated far beyond their capacity to undertake analytical thought.
Yeah, and it'd be funny if the 'online project' was a bunch of Ewok based cutesy mini-games for kids. I bet the future of that site would be extremely rosy.
Are you saying that a Moderator on the official Lucas boards would give out a false/non-official site?
The moderators there are volunteers and not LEC employees, so yes, I am saying that. The mod who posted the website is likely connected to the LucasArts Fan Network who are the owners of the site. They are not officially connected to LucasArts or Lucasfilm.
I looked up the register of the site on one of the whois domain serach sites and it is own by LFNetwork, which is the LucasArts Fan Network. Took me all of ten seconds.
The official announcement page will likely be a product page on LEC's site, and/or one on BioWare's website.

No doubt it's an MMO now.
Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

No, he is typing it.
Besides, false is not synonymous with unofficial.
