Do you play more than one game?

Refering to the recent quotes of WAR Vs WoW and players who play them..

--------

According to Blizzard's CEO, that over half of the subscribers who left World of Warcraft for Warhammer Online had returned, which Mythic's CEO interpreted to as an accusation Warhammer users were leaving the MMO.

"One thing about MMOs is that people play multiple games," asserted Jacobs. "That's one of the reasons I was very surprised by Paul's comments. He knows that people may play WoW and they'll play WAR and maybe even a third game at the same time."

---------

When deciding what MMORPG to play these days, money isnt always the main issue. MMO games these days its about time. Each MMORPG takes time to develope a char and learn the game/enviornment, Gain levels, Gain equipment, obtain a guild, etc. To move to a new game (even a free one) means that one of your current games will need to compensate and your character on that game, and perhaps a guild will lose out on play time.

So, who is correct?

Whats your situation?

Discuss.

Personally, I won't be resubbing to WoW whether I decide to leave WAR or not. However, I know plenty of people who decided to resub to check out the 3.0 patch, decided it wasn't worth it (and even cancelled their expansion pre-orders) and went back to WAR or whatever other game. So, under the current circumstances, it may appear that players are returning to WoW (and some of them might be) but just as many (or more) are not, and are just resubbing to see if it's worth playing long-term.

Yes, I play multiple games, but from different genres for the most part.  I play an RTS called Dawn of War, based on the warhammer universe interestingly enough.  I play an FPS called Enemy Territory/Quake Wars.  The MMO I'm playing at the moment is WoW and yes I find it difficult to play more than 1 game from a genre at a time because they are usually so similar in nature.  But an RTS, an FPS and an MMO all play quite a bit differently and depending on the mood I'm in, I'll play any of those games on a given night.  This weekend for instance I played all 3 games on Sunday.  I played WoW in the morning, I played Dawn of War in the afternoon and then I played some ET/QW that night.  This way the games tend to stay fresh for me.  Maybe this is why after 4 years I'm still not burned out on WoW like some people are.

I must agree there is alot of people out there I think that play more than one game. For instance I have a flat mate who plays MMO's and he switch's between WOW, LOTRO and SWG. He subscribes to each one a different month and plays it for that month. I personally play WOW and LOTRO but I subscribe to them both every month and just play what takes my fancy that day, I am even thinking of signing upto WAR. So I think that all the developers out there are cashing in at some point off the same customers

Well i only pay to play for 1 online game a month (carnt afford more than 1, but hey carnt play more than 1 at the same time anyways).

    On another note -

Well, only thing that stopped me from going to Warhammer and joining some friends who went there was the monthly fee (UK) according to the website its £10.31 (excluding v.a.t) countries that pay vat need to add whatever that is ontop (for me being in the UK thats a further 17.5% increase), this would take it to between £12.20 and £12.50 per month to play.

After reading alot of dissapointments and bugs, i really felt that the game was not worth a price hike of almost a 50% monthly increase compared to its rivals (£8.99 for established games or £12.50 for warhammer) ok SoE games are £9.49 per month (not much extra there but you DO have the option to play anywhere you want EU or US servers at anytime you please, none of this utter BS about having to buy a US version and have someone with a US bank pay for you or vice versa. So ye, only good thing there service had.

Anyways, have 1 friend who thinks warhammer (also in UK only costs £8.99) but he isnt sure. If anyone is from the UK, could they please confirm what the monthly pricetag is please? As the website must be wrong (£10.31 and they have the game at £39.99-(actually its £29.99 or less depending were you go)). If its same price as the rest i may give it a try, for now i have Wow-wotlk on pre-order, but just learned that 2 more friends are going to give Warhammer a try. None of us a that impressed by the 3.0.2 warcraft patch at all.

Hope to get some feedback here on how the game is and its proper pricetag for UK players.

    Thx

I don't think there are many people who play WoW and another game at the same time. It is understandable that someone who playes Warhammer also needs another game to feel satisfied, but this obsviously doesn't happen with WoTLK.

Hello obvious jaded fanboi! the cesspool is that way -------> feel free to dive right in

I myself play WAR, WoW and AoC. 45 bucks a month is fuck all for entertainment of that caliber, my monthly internet bill is more expensive.

WoW is the only game I play currently because I have time constraints with school and my job. WoW has plenty to offer for me during a day. I like to play more than one game if I have more time but WoW has so much in me that it keeps me satisfied more than any other game currently. You can say I am hardcore WoW player that like to complete as much as I can but Blizzard knows how to keep me behind somehow  whether new content or achievements (SO many of them!! haha). :P

For the arguement, there is no right or wrong answer. It really depends on people's time constraints and tolerance to play more than one game during the same time. It really depends what kind of gamer you are and what you're into. Some like to stick with one game that they are so good at then have others as backups to take a break or whatever from the game your best at. Others may stick to one game and be the top of their game because they put so much time into it to be the best of the best and show who's the almighty beotch and not really have other games that they don't play much at all.

Blizzard gained and lose some but there is no way of telling if they are the same people that are playing both at once. Same goes to WAR where they have the same deal. They both win-win if the user plays both games so that will give them both revenue. I just think they are messing with each other with those quotes trying to stir up competition. '/shrugs

Yes but then you should wait for WoTLK and then see if you're really going to keep all those subcriptions active. It is going to be the most succesfull expansion of all time because it is really going to revolutionarize the games.
