If you WANT the best PVP game of all MMORPG's..... you better have the same kind of fluid actions as Wow PVP. A PvP based game which lacks these famous fluid actions can only be considered as .... .... PvP for handicapped. You may be the number ONE hater of Wow, the animation, smoothness, responsiveness, fast furious actions on the Wow Battlefields are much better than the slow unresponsive and laggy controls in WAR. How can a RP in WAR ever attract the PvP hardcore? The thing needs 2 to 3 seconds to cast a spell with its stick in a terrible slow and unresponsive way .... and I am not even talking of server lag (window dragging), so well known to all that once played DAoC. And then people ..... autofacing in PvP ??? I thought PvP was all about person vs person actions and SKILLS ? How can a game claim to have better PvP, if you handicap player skills on an individual basis ?????????? And don't start talking about general PvP group tactics because EVERY PvP game needs group tactics.

Oh, he is. He didn't reveal that until recently though. If you go back through his history he went several weeks of strictly WAR flaming since the creation of his account before he started promoting WotLK.

E D I T : In RvR War is the best thing today (although DAoC was better back then), but RvR is not tactical PvP. They missed the ball on the tactical field and gained a strategic game with a bad technique. Give me War's working (non scenario's !) RvR lay-out with Wow's fluid PvP controls and I am in, now it lasted 10 days. Oh and the addition of the Knight is at least a little step in the right direction. But throw out the animation people and hire some decent graphical guys to redo the PvP fights.

Wow's pvp is weak if you want to talk about twitch skills, an fps (planetside is a mmo fps , i don't overly care for it, its good, but it way surpasses your requirements for a good pvp mmo so you should play that instead of wow after all You set the standards).
In the end pvp to me has to do with the challenge it presents, pushing 12344 is never more challenging in hand-eye motor skill than aiming, ducking, and dodging. So lets focus on what matters and that is the tactics that you want so badly to deine (proably, becuase you realize that wow pvp is just a mindless button spam) In War you have to think to die, it that simple tactics matter in war.

My opinion is I think DAOC is the best game of all it is the king of RVR. But the PVE do suck and very boring. I look at WAR it's truly a clone of WOW I hate to say that but it is true. But to me I see WAR as a average game I really do think Mythic could have done a lot better. If they stuck to their roots took the DAOC RVR engine and went off that and topped it off with WOW PVE. Then the game would have been beyond awesome.

WoW = PvE game with a jacked up PvP system (PvP in this game is all about JOE SOLO and how fast their character can burn you down in 3 seconds). I like the game, but the PvP sucks -imo-
Guild Wars = I love this game and still play it on occasion, as stated though, loading screens leaves to no immersion (imo)for PvE, but the PvP is Guild Structured and work as a team.
WARHAMMER = PvP game with little PvE immersion (PvP in this game is not about being JOE SOLO, but working as a group to tackles odds agaist opposing players and guilds, whether it battlekeeps, bg's or open RvR. This game was not made for people to PvP solo since all the classes are so diverse on both factions.
but this is just my opinion on all 3 games.. I guess that wasnt to short.. LOL
This was the first RvR focused game I've ever played and it is a total letdown. I think Gamespot called it had the best PvP in a MMORPG out there which is simply... . The king of PvP is Guildwars handsdown. And if you don't think its a MMORPG then cry me a river. WAR had a decent PvP but not good. Otherwise you can say that MMORPGs have quite stale and nonexistent PvP - atleast those that I've tried. I don't claim to know everything.
PS: The scenarios kept me playing for as long as I did. Alongside with some of the PQs and instances, it is the best content in the game.
