I've only seen the Halloween events on WoW but they're a lot of fun - especially now they've introduced Achievements which tie in to it.
I want the Headless Horseman's mount so bad. It looks pwnage.

then I am looking for other games...
I'm not a huge fan of holiday events in MMOs but if they can somehow find a unique way of doing it I'm not against it. What I don't like is when games do the same thing pretty much every year it gets boring. One of the things I really hated in ffxi was the cherry blossum festivals. They were pretty much the same every single year with a few different aspects.
I like holidays in games if they make it fit to the game. Like how SWG always had life day around christmas instead of just having christmas. Kinda throws off the gaming experience if suddenly everyone is wearing santa hats and carrying candy canes. Yeah it can be fun, but it doesn't really fit and you always get those people who wear the santa hat forever just to be different.

but get out of the routine is always good and sometimes fun... ^^
