I saw the system req's at the EQ2 site and honestly didn't understand. I know this has probably been posted before but what will run this game decently? I have a pretty outdated system, with a geforce fx 5200, but it ran L2 very well. Will I even be able to run EQ2 at all? Thanks for the help.

try looking here, its pretty cut and dried on how your card will perform, or if its usable.
EDIT: card must be pixel shader 3.0 compliant and direct x 9.0c compliant (your card meets requirements, but its low end)
Cool thanks for the help! What problems would I probably encounter with my card?
As long as you meet the minimum, it will RUN. You'll probably have to have the settings way down, but...
If you're still using a 5200, you should upgrade, fast. What motherboard/processor/RAM you using? I would think you could get by with a top end processor and 1gig of ram with a 5200 card, but why would you do that?
Being a gamer, it forces us to upgrade... I have a new FX-53, nForce3 Pro 150 motherboard, and I'm seriously thinking about dumping my 5950ultra card already... I'm sure the wife is loving that fact... lol
you can probably expect low frame rates, and to run it on low settings, turning off all the extras like shadows and water effects. i would upgrade if possible, if not it will be a bit rough, but "playable".
and yes it will depend a lot on your processor speed and you RAM. 2.0ghz and up is probably optimal of course faster is better and 1gb of RAM or more.
I have a 2.8 GHz AMD Athlon XP Processor
512 ram
120 gb hard drive
Geforce 5500fx

A major advantage of AGP is its superior bandwidth capacity. Higher bandwidth means that more data can be transferred at a much faster rate. For example, the data rate for AGP 1X mode (66MHz = 264 MB/sec) is twice as fast as that of PCI (33MHz = 132MB/sec), while AGP 2X mode (133 MHz = 528 MB/sec) is four times faster than PCI. AGP 4X (266 MHz = 1.02 GB/sec) AGP 8x (533mhz=2.04 GB/sec)
here is the proof of why PCI is inferior to AGP and the speed you are truly losing on. agp x8 is about 15 times faster than the PCI at traveling information to where it needs to be...
change your avatar and I'll answer the question easily...

hey murt, whats up? what do you know im dying to hear it, hehe. if your saying for me to change my avatar, its not going to happen, but i guess i wasnt asking the questions either. i was answering them. trying not to set them up for disappointment when they go buy EQ2 and load it in like yeah here we go and when they open the game, the screen goes black a few times and flashes then your right back to the desktop. that radeon 9200 may not even run the game because its not compliant with direct x 9.0c especially in a PCI slot, lol... im just trying to help them so they can be ready to either fix it or not cry when it doesnt work.
EDIT: murt if you see this within a few mins turn on your yahoo messenger i want to talk to ya
