Open Beta Tommorow!

If ya think about it..........................If open beta were to start tommorow that would give it a month to be played before the retail version comes out on Nov. 15th.  That is pretty damn sweet.  I know theres like 5,000 new posts on this WOW forum so if this is old news Sorry!image

    From what I have seen in the past open beta traditionally lasts 2 weeks just before the release of the game.

    I would look for open beta to start around the end of october or on the 1st of november.

    They stated on the Blizzard Website that even if the beta does start soon it won't happen till after sign-ups and that will take a bit. WoW beta site that is.

    Well then maybe Im wrong!  At least maybe sign-ups will start tommorow!  Ive played many of open beta's where you just download the client, sign-up, and jump right in.  So ya never know!

    Well in the new patch they added a new icon to the opening screen of the game to create accounts. When you press it it takes you to a page that has not been activated. The way I see it is that they will anounce the start of the open beta, require players to download the game, and then create an account from the game. The game is going throu a maintanaince period of almost 24 hours. Tomorrow the web site will have maintanaice too, soo I expect open beta to be on friday night or maybe saturday. In any case it will be for next week.

    You have to have sign ups before you have the open beta. THey've stated this time after time, and It still hasn't sunk in =(

    Sure... maybe sign ups tomorrow, or this weekend, or next. But no open beta until you have sign ups!

    Unless they require you to have a key, I don't see the need to have signups.  You just download the game and use the ingame account creation I mentioned and get started.  If the game will be open for averyone, i dont really see the need to have a key.  But this is all especulations.  I just hope however they do it to be as soon as possible.

    The reason they have sign-ups for open beta is so that they know who is testing their game and how to contact them if they have any problem/urgent information for that person indiviually.

    Well I'm going to bed. I'll have Opera reload the site every 15 seconds and check tomorrow morning before class if signups are ready...the site going down could just be a cover up. -.-

    im guessing Oct 15th-17th the sign-ups will begin...

    what i dont understand is how this whole "sign-up" thing is working...

    seriously... i've played TONS of CB's/OB's in my MMO lifetime and in most MMORPG's i've OB'd, the sign-ups happen DURING the test... not before... although, there have been exceptions (e.g. PWG's R.Y.L)

    sign-ups usually start on the same day the OB does, allowing people to just sign-up, download, and begin playing...

    only CB's tend hold sign-ups before the beta actually begins... hey do this so they can screen and hand-pick the people beforehand...

    OB on the other hand is just like the name sounds... OPEN BETA... this meaning ANYONE and EVERYONE can jump in and play... that being said, holding sign-ups BEFORE the actuall beta is unnecessary...

    so IMO... OB will start 15th-17th, although i could be HORRIBLY wrong...

    Bang on the head. Signups will start before playing, not sure I see a need for them to be finished before anyone starts playing. Since it's Open -- people could come along and sign up on the day before OB ends.

    There may be some other reason to delay the OB playing - but signups being "completed" can't be it.

    I think tomorrow sounds way too early, and Nov. 15 sounds way too late. I'm guessing the OB will start week after next, about mid range between the two dates.

    Most of the open beta's i have been in start 1 mo to 2 weeks before release

    the long down time could mean a big patch or to add new servers to handle the load of a open beta

    we will find out soon  hopfuly they will start it the 15th i want to play WoW NOW image

    Everyone I just felt a SERIOUS need for a little rumor control and confirmation. ..

    I just want to remind everyone Blizzard has not yet [to my knowledge] set a Release date for WOW. Lord knows I wish they'd freakin get on with it and give one, since I feel like I'm dying inside everyday I go without my WOW fix. But the cold hard truth is I wanted to remind you all that while I'm hoping the Release date is Nov. 15th or SOONER it has not been given. Too many people have said that date in this thread alone like Moses himself came down from the hill and gave the date to you on a stone tablet. Please don't take offense to this reply but I felt after reading all the reply's that someone needed to point it out.

    BUT hey here's to hoping ALL of you are right because good LORD I NEED MY WOW FIX and I need it NOW!

    The sign ups should start by the weekend, that would explain why they are ending closed beta soon. I am going to play this game to hold me off till EQ2 and see what everyone raves about.

    I'm glad you're actually gonna try it. I'm not sure which will be better but both are certainly worth a try. The only way to find out which one you like is to actaully try them

    Yep, I agree...  I'm looking forward to getting a look at WoW.  I have to be honest at this point, I'm going with EQ2...

    However, I don't want to shell out 50 bucks for this, and 50 bucks for EQ2 if I can avoid it.  Who knows, WoW could be the end-all-be-all game, and I'll cancel my EQ2 preorder.  Whichever, I'm not loyal to either, I just want to play the better game.
