I have read the post you talk about in AoC forum, and to be honest it is totally ok. It's a guy saying AoC MMORPG forums are full of people that comment on this game even without having tried it. I have to agree with him, that it is probably the case for more or less 50% of the posts here. I am not trying to discredit the players that give their legitimate negative opinion on the game here, it's just that there are some posters typically with a "Failcom" avatar, that spews out like 20 random negative comments withing 20 min, which really mess up the density of real player posts. If you look over these forums about 50% of the posts are made by that overactive counter AoC marketing squad that use a profile for something like 3 weeks (untill banned). Posts like 200 negative posts, then jump to another profile and repeat. So it's kind of a lot of bull in here. A AoC player can see that as the MMORPG forums in general discuss stuff that was solved several months back. So I think you have nobody else to thank for this condition than the group of people in here with a 1 week old "FailCom"profile spewing out tons of BS. It is counter marketing, and it pisses the current subscribers off. Misinformation in general seem to have that effect on people.
Btw, I'm not defending AoC, I just say I like it, that I can't really understand what people are talking about when they say performance/bugs/lag. I just have exelent fun. I have probably not had as much fun in a game for a loooong while. Post what you like..LOL. But I like this game. I will see if I can make a review of the game by end of this week. I love the game, and looking forward, like a kid for cristmas, for every patch. In my world this is the best mmo game. Will never go back to WOW. (Played it for 4 years)

Pezz I appreciate the fact you like AOC .No one can dispute your personal opinion.There are many people who do like the game and yes they have fixed certain things.
What you need to understand is that many people here were burned and very disappointed by AOC ...and they have real issues with AOC that haven't been addressed or cannot be .What I would like is for you to get to level 80 and then report back on the game .I believe you are a fan ,not a viral marketer, but you haven't been exposed to the issues that drove most people away

We have all seen you are unable to look at AoC critically and objectively. Don't you find it strange that most people hate AoC, some people like it but admit there are faults, and then there is you. Have you ever said anything bad about AoC? Everyone check out this guys posting history and make your own conclutions. We can only speculate your motives. Last I checked you didn't have to have a max character to rate any games, IN fact most game reviews are based off a very short playtime. Your right on some points though, Im tired of seeing people say AoC is perfect about as mucha s I"m tired of seeing people say AoC is terrible because I choose to base my review on a single snapshot of time at the launch of an MMO even though they continually get better.
I liked AOC at first. I thought it had some interesting gameplay mechanics, interesting graphics ( but kind of plasticy if you ask me ).
What I didn't like was having to spend days in tortage, theres no option to bypass tortage when you create a new character, tortage is incredibly boring and I felt like there was no freedom. Also, running into invisible walls totally breaks the immersion.
When I finally made it out of tortage, I was really dissapointed that the rest of the world seemed just like tortage. Same boring quests, killing boring monsters, it was just boring.
I think AOC would have been great if it was re-geared to be a single player game.
I just never found the massively multiplayer aspect of it.

You are right about some things and wrong about others. I am not a AoC fan. Come on, AoC is just a game. But it's fun and I have been spending lots of time on it lately. nevertheless I would not say I am a fan. I am a Manchester united fan (soccer), beacause I like some of the players there and have been watching these guys for a decade, I am an Aston Martin fan because I always drool over their Auto catalogue (have also probably don that for the last 5 years), and so on... You get my point, a computergame is in general not to be played for more than tops 1/2 year on a casual nonfan level. Having said that, I just think people confuse the feeling you get when a game is over(no more content) with that the game is not good.
I played Lost Planet on Xbox 360 this January and ohhh my god this game was soo good. I loved it and I had never tried something looking as fantastic before. Even so I stopped playing it in feb. Game is still fantastic though, I dig that game and can recomend it 10/10 for anyone. It's just that I played it to the end and that's it. AoC beat or at least are at the same level as Lost Planet for me. It's just really really good. I can't possibly understand how people can bitch so much about a game as fantastic as AoC. Anyway, when I have played all content of AoC I will probably put it aside, not because the game is bad, it's just over. Same thing with Halo, After finishing the game and playing a few hundred hours online I just thought it was enough while some guys just keep going and going. So try and look to what some of the people write, if a hardcore gamer pick up the game and plays it for 5 months before he puts it down, that tells me right away that this game is above average and probably quite interesting. Anyway I don't have to worry about other peoples oppinion no more because I have my own and it tells me right now, that there is a good chance I will be playing this game for another 4-5 months. People, grow up. Its a game. Some actually like it and some dont. Whats the big deal if someone like the game ? Someone have it their mission to try to convinvce the poor guy that he have to be stupid to like it and hurry over to another No named game. I know alot of people thought this was going to be their big game for this decade. Lots of people did not get what they anticipated, and got frustrated and sad. In this frustration they maybe found their goal in life, make all other not to like the game either. I have played the game from early access, and yes there have been bugs and there have been performance trouble. I have been lucky cause nothing was so off that it broke the game for me, so I stayed with my friend playing. Its really fair to say that funcom have fixed a lot of bugs, and the perfomance is way way better than the release. But still it not the game for everybody, and I cant say that you and you will like it, just that I like it. If you have a problem with that, go someplace else, cause I dont care. And if someone wonder, yes I have a Lvl 80 and several other characters still loving the game.

Who game 6/10. I belive I gave 10/10. My only comment till now is that crafting book look a bit bland, but that's such a minor thing considdering all the other mindblowing stuff FC got in place. Also I just chopped off a dusins of arms,legs and heads before arriving in Poitan so it did not affect my excellent mood.

AoC is a fun game and fits MY needs as a player. Just like WAR fits others, or WoW, or LOTRO even (gasp...poor people).
But, I also realize the game needs work, and I am patient due to the fact that AoC is a genre bender and does not conform to the EQ / WoW mentality of Elves, global cooldowns and boring combat.

Yes, people like diffrent things. At first I thought people who loved AoC were dumb, crazy or both (I'm still sure some them are). But then I realized they just have different expectations and like different things. I believe a person coming from WoW and a person coming from Guild Wars will have a totally different AoC experience because they come from different backrounds.
Only thing I like in MMO's is high level endgame pvp. I pretty much hate everything else. And since AoC failed big time in the endgame department I saw no reason to keep playing.
By the way.. nice to see a fellow crafting hater. I think people who like to collect resources in AoC need to seek professional help.

AA would have absolutely hated resource collecting in AoC. Fortunately he was lucky and died before the game came out.

I have to agree with him, that it is probably the case for more or less 50% of the posts here. I am not trying to discredit the player that are here to tell their real opinion on the game, it's in fact the guy with the Failcom avatar that spam posts 20 random negative comments withing 20 min that does that. All I am saying is that this forum has an overactive counter AoC marketing squad that use an profile for something like 3 weeks, posts like 200 negative posts, then jump to another profile and repeat. So it's kind of a lot of bull in here, a lot of stuff is discussed that was problems like several months back, but which is totally fine now. So I think you have nobody else to thank for the way communication is done in this forum. It is not marketing, it's just people pissed off with the level of misinformation.
Btw, I'm not defending AoC, I just say I like it, that I can't really understand what people are talking about when they say performance/bugs/lag. I just have exelent fun. I have probably not had as much fun in a game for a loooong while. Post what you like..LOL. But I like this game. I will see if I can make a review of the game by end of this week. Only thing is I want to make it to lvl 45-50 before I start to make that review. Have fun.

What you need to understand is that many people here were burned and very disappointed by AOC ...and they have real issues with AOC that haven't been addressed or cannot be .What I would like is for you to get to level 80 and then report back on the game .I believe you are a fan ,not a viral marketer, but you haven't been exposed to the issues that drove most people away

Have you ever said anything bad about AoC? Everyone check out this guys posting history and make your own conclutions. We can only speculate your motives. I have one theory but I'm going to share it at this time.

You know what's a difference between a typical AoC hater and a typical AoC fanboi? The typical AoC hater has a level 80 character.
Last I checked you didn't have to have a max character to rate any games, IN fact most game reviews are based off a very short playtime. Your right on some points though, Im tired of seeing people say AoC is perfect about as mucha s I"m tired of seeing people say AoC is terrible because I choose to base my review on a single snapshot of time at the launch of an MMO even though they continually get better.
I liked AOC at first. I thought it had some interesting gameplay mechanics, interesting graphics ( but kind of plasticy if you ask me ).
What I didn't like was having to spend days in tortage, theres no option to bypass tortage when you create a new character, tortage is incredibly boring and I felt like there was no freedom. Also, running into invisible walls totally breaks the immersion.
When I finally made it out of tortage, I was really dissapointed that the rest of the world seemed just like tortage. Same boring quests, killing boring monsters, it was just boring.
I think AOC would have been great if it was re-geared to be a single player game.
I just never found the massively multiplayer aspect of it.

I have an issue with the surreptitious behavior pattern we are seeing on the AOC forums here where people only logon to post positive spin about AOC...as if it's going to counter the negativity ,This is encouraged from certain Mod's on the AOC official forums.Its funny and sad at the same time

You are right about some things and wrong about others. I am not a AoC fan. Come on, AoC is just a game. But it's fun and I have been spending lots of time on it lately. nevertheless I would not say I am a fan. I am a Manchester united fan (soccer), beacause I like some of the players there and have been watching these guys for a decade, I am an Aston Martin fan because I always drool over their Auto catalogue (have also probably don that for the last 5 years), and so on... You get my point, a computergame is in general not to be played for more than tops 1/2 year on a casual nonfan level. Having said that, I just think people confuse the feeling you get when a game is over(no more content) with that the game is not good.
I played Lost Planet on Xbox 360 this January and ohhh my god this game was soo good. I loved it and I had never tried something looking as fantastic before. Even so I stopped playing it in feb. Game is still fantastic though, I dig that game and can recomend it 10/10 for anyone. It's just that I played it to the end and that's it. AoC beat or at least are at the same level as Lost Planet for me. It's just really really good. I can't possibly understand how people can bitch so much about a game as fantastic as AoC. Anyway, when I have played all content of AoC I will probably put it aside, not because the game is bad, it's just over. Same thing with Halo, After finishing the game and playing a few hundred hours online I just thought it was enough while some guys just keep going and going. So try and look to what some of the people write, if a hardcore gamer pick up the game and plays it for 5 months before he puts it down, that tells me right away that this game is above average and probably quite interesting. Anyway I don't have to worry about other peoples oppinion no more because I have my own and it tells me right now, that there is a good chance I will be playing this game for another 4-5 months. Thanks for a normal response for once.
People, grow up. Its a game. Some actually like it and some dont. Whats the big deal if someone like the game ? Someone have it their mission to try to convinvce the poor guy that he have to be stupid to like it and hurry over to another No named game. I know alot of people thought this was going to be their big game for this decade. Lots of people did not get what they anticipated, and got frustrated and sad. In this frustration they maybe found their goal in life, make all other not to like the game either. I have played the game from early access, and yes there have been bugs and there have been performance trouble. I have been lucky cause nothing was so off that it broke the game for me, so I stayed with my friend playing. Its really fair to say that funcom have fixed a lot of bugs, and the perfomance is way way better than the release. But still it not the game for everybody, and I cant say that you and you will like it, just that I like it. If you have a problem with that, go someplace else, cause I dont care. And if someone wonder, yes I have a Lvl 80 and several other characters still loving the game.
I love AOC ! why? becaus i have a very fun time playing it !

Who game 6/10. I belive I gave 10/10. My only comment till now is that crafting book look a bit bland, but that's such a minor thing considdering all the other mindblowing stuff FC got in place. Also I just chopped off a dusins of arms,legs and heads before arriving in Poitan so it did not affect my excellent mood.

Good thing I have found I HATE crafting in MMO's.

AoC is a fun game and fits MY needs as a player. Just like WAR fits others, or WoW, or LOTRO even (gasp...poor people).
But, I also realize the game needs work, and I am patient due to the fact that AoC is a genre bender and does not conform to the EQ / WoW mentality of Elves, global cooldowns and boring combat.
I give it an 8/10
Yes, people like diffrent things. At first I thought people who loved AoC were dumb, crazy or both (I'm still sure some them are). But then I realized they just have different expectations and like different things. I believe a person coming from WoW and a person coming from Guild Wars will have a totally different AoC experience because they come from different backrounds.
Only thing I like in MMO's is high level endgame pvp. I pretty much hate everything else. And since AoC failed big time in the endgame department I saw no reason to keep playing.
By the way.. nice to see a fellow crafting hater. I think people who like to collect resources in AoC need to seek professional help.

AA would have absolutely hated resource collecting in AoC. Fortunately he was lucky and died before the game came out.
