the value of having melee as your hero

ive recently come to realize the value of having melee as a hero... eventually as you level up you will have the opportunity to hire the princess and the prophet.. and according to high level players the princess is useless. you are better off hiring a prophet which equips a bow, supports melee, and has better atk than a princess... this i guess is one of the primary considerations for choosing a melee as your hero,,, and between a sword, spear and axe, the best melee to choose for a hero is axe.. you have an axe that can use dispel guard and freeze and at the same time you save one slot in your team for other killers or supports, because you no longer have to hire a viking which is pretty much useless as you level up.

I started with an Axe Hero and I am very glad I did. He can Freeze an whole row for 2 rounds and he also attacks a whole row. I dont know much about the other Heros but the Axe Hero is a beast.
Having a melee as your hero is a lot, I've made my hero as a support type so I was quite disappointed on how thus it turn out. So, then I decided that my mercenaries will be the one who'll bring up my party to life since they do have much more hp to tank all possible mobs. The real advantage of having a melee type hero is that he can stay at the battle for a very very long time because of his hp.
