Alot of truth in this for many of those of us who no longer play the currently live Star Wars game.  I know I was somewhat hoping for what they've already said will not be in it, crafting, Entertaining etc.  But hey, I'm not discounting the possibility of this game being good, I enjoyed the KoTR games and think it could be very good.

Regardless of if it's good enough for some, or KoTR3 as others may indicate (another thread)  I think it could still be potentially a very good game.  Question is will it be good enough to keep us (as in Star Wars Fans) interested, regardless of if we're current subscribers of SWG or not.

I absolutely agree with what you are saying, OP, at least from your philosophy of things; in an MMO, we should be able to follow our own stories and literally feel like our characters are "living" in the game, whereas they are not static and systematic. However, this is neigh impossible to accomplish properly.

At that point, I myself do not mind following a specific story IF IT IS GOOD; and being able to change that fixated story to something else in many occassions that, mind you, I have never seen in any MMO, is fantastic to me. I have very high hope that Bioware will be able to do this. However, what I think you are sick of as am I is that stories in MMOs are just a shallow mess. The ideology of following a specific story has been clouded mostly by the fact that we have nothing great to judge it by in an MMO, while in a game like SWGs that was one of few (if the only, I'm actually unsure of any other MMOs similar) that was very close in achieving the sandbox style MMO perfectly.

I have full trust that Bioware will bring my full trust back in actually enjoying PvE in MMOs. It will not be sandbox; it will be a fixated story. But, if my faith is correct that Bioware will make an MMO that has a fixated story that doesn't outright suck and is not shallow, it will bring a whole new definition to what PvE should be in MMOs. Not to mention, the story changes between both factions, and will change between choices we make within our stories (which is something I've never experienced in an MMO).
