NCsoft has stepped up their registeration and filtering on accounts alot. So this OB isn't something to be excited about. From my understanding people wanting to register (or already have been registered) for Aion OB will need to verify who they are, through some sort of Cell phone setup.
Don't know how true that is, but lately alot of Korean developers/publishers (including NCsoft). Have been very adamant about getting rid of people that do not belong, or are using KSSN/Accounts that do not belong to them.

Truly amazing, really cannot wait for this game. Reminds me of that Final Fantasy XI tone, but with a little bit of Lineage II, etiher way the base of the Lineage games should be enough to carry this game past a few million if not a few 10 millions like WoW
Open Beta starts 11th of Nov they just announced it today (23rd of Oct). In Korea of course.
Koreans will be able to log in on the 30 Oct and make one char before launch. There doing this so the servers will be balanced prior to launch and it will give people time to play around with the CC.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
Is there any new news on whether or not there will be and Open beta in NA? If i remember what I've read they weren't going to have one at all for NA. Hopefully they can change their minds about that I'm foaming at the mouth in anticipation for this game.

We'll be holding Online Preview Events 2009, shortly before the release. We are in the middle of the localization process right now and it's still a while to go, but I can assure you that it will be worth the wait.

netmarble does the same, but there are ways. I think it is against mmorpg.com policy if i tell you how.
Very true. If that weren't true I wouldn't be playing Netmarble's Prius Online today or any of the other beta phases they had. Looking forward to the challenge I will be presented with from NCsoft for the OB registration.

I'm was in the Germany Game Conversation that day so I try this game for a while, it was awesome and love the outfits, got also access to closed beta when it's going to start.
Because it's being made IN Korea? Rarely if ever do you see a game created in one hemisphere and tested in both.... The testing usually only happens within the region it's created. EX: NA and EU games are tested by NA and EU testers and are first released in those countries and sometimes in more, but usually other localization happens later.
Same with asian studios. Maybe one day soon it won't be like this, especially since NCsoft has streamlined things, however I wouldn't be surprised if their NA games are first tested and played by NA people and so on...

Well someone stepped up and threw the gauntlet straight into Blizzard's face, didn't they?
They're not even trying to be subtle here.

Heh? How does it relate to Blizzard? This time frame is what was projected pretty much. If you are talking about the Lich King expansion, Aion having it's Korean Open Beta won't change a darn thing.

It pains me that we have to wait for so long.
If we got Aion at the same time as KR, imo it would do awesome.
Well hopefully the old saying "Good things come, to those who wait" will take effect here. I couldn't get the links to work from this post but if you go aionsource www.aionsource.com/forum/general-discussion/8692-aion-true-cinematic-video-ig-ob-date.html you can see the videos. I recommend the HQ versions i think i instantly went from 6 to midnight.
-_- Why Korea? I thought this game was supposed to be designed with Westerners in mind.

Afaik it takes a pair of months anyways, I mean, WOTLK won't release in korea the same day than in USA if I recall correctly.
