Hey guys,
Been playing EVE a while now, and I've really lost the spark I had playing the game. Everything seems to be a bit on the dull side, I don't know why.
Has anyone else felt like this?

ah...this happens in all MMO's...there is only so much to do before it gets repetitious.
Sure i had. I learned most of my english vocabulary during boring pos sieges, some devs already said they hated them and read entire books during poswars..
What i do when i'm bored is that i take a break or do something else. Nobody is going to be mad at you for taking a break.
But i'm usually back within a month, and often i set a new goal. It's not like there were not enough possibilities in Eve.
Thanks to that i have a jack of all trades character now, but i'd do it again. I went from missionrunning/mining to 0.0 warfare and carebearing, to fcing, pirating, industry and trading.
Next step is going back into 0.0 with my new trade and industrial abilities. Without changes, i'd probably quit within weeks.
That's by the way why i never care a lot about nerfs. Changes keep the game interesting for me..
Most of us do at times and a lot try to get rid of the EVE curse, some try other MMO's and even "that other one", still we invariably come to the conclusion that there's no place like EVE.
I got bored early on when I was mining all the time... since I gave that up I have been fine.
So what do you lot tend to do to pass time if you get bored of EVE?
I just rediscovered Return to Castle Wolfenstein on my Hd, complete with safegames from '03..
I miss those old games...I used to love the old point-and-click games. I pretty much grew up on them.
Just go pod someone, then you will get a hard on again...Wink aka Debt Collector....

Was the same for myself, played for 10 months and got bored, was a case of mates who played stopped and I couldnt be bothered joing a new corp.
Am starting again brand new and actually am more excited/eager than the first time. And as been has been said already you dont get penalised for a break.
Sure. I got bored 'cause my corp stuck me a 0.0 system I couldn't leave (said system was very well defended and I was a miner at the time with minimal combat skills).
I went back to WoW, but it felt.. well.. it felt a lot like going back to Kindergarden after you've already graduated from high school - I just couldn't do it. So I quit again, came back to Eve, went back to highsec, joined the militia when EA came out, been having fun ever since.
That's the great thing about Eve - with no scripted goals, you're totally free to do something else if you get bored.
Yes often been bored in Eve, then I don't play for a while (can be days, weeks) and then I enjoy it again . And your char keeps on training during those off-periods !
Sure , there are time I just can't bring myself to log in! I just set a long skill and play another MMO - I always end up back on Eve though ..damn game
The only time I've grown of EVE is when I had no real goals to plan or look forward too in the game. Or when I have nothing else to do but run missions or when I have to wait on certain skills to do stuff/train other skills.
Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.
Game(s) I Am Currently Playing:
GW2 (+LoL and BF3)
Yea i get this too occasionally so what i do is take a couple of months off to play single player games or read a book and do other stuff like practice my games workshop painting skills.
Important thing is to know when to stop playing eve to do other stuff then after a month or so [usually] you get the urge to come back for another year.
Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981
Good question and one I am contemplating now. I haven't undocked for about 2 months but I have 2 accounts. 1 with a character topping 75 million SP's and the other with 39 million. I am for the first time in 4 years contemplating quitting the game. However I am not sure if its boredom or just RL. EVE is a game that can not be played casually. Even running missions you have to refit, salvage and most level 4's take a good hour. For any corp events such as mining session, wardec or anything else it takes too much time to get organised and by the time I have arrived I need to log. I desperately want to keep playing because the game is amazing for the right player and even after 4.5 years I still havent seen anywhere near the whole universe. That has to count for something.
So maybe not bored but certainly on my hit list as its a time killer.
Yep, earlier this year, got a bit bored, so I quit my corp, moved my stuff into Empire, and kept training while I played a few months of AOC. Once that was over, I came back, joined a different sort of corp, and have been having fun ever since.
Take a break and come back in a while.
