How to develop abilities?

muro_amimuro_ami Member Posts: 91

I just want to know how to develop abilities. I saw in the mercenary section that my gunner has many more abilities to develop like chaos wind and deadly shot. I still got the wildshot ability, and I want to add another ability. Anyone can share how they learn new abilities? Thanks!

I believed that there are certain level requirements to gain new skills, I've already experience that before, having a new skill scroll for my shamat at first I wasn't able to use it, but the next time I've tried it additional skill was added. Don't worry a day will come when you'll be able to use those scrolls.

There are 3 types of skill books.

    Beginner (Beg)

    Intermediate (Int)

    Advanced (Adv)

You can learn up to 20 levels of a skill with Beg books.  For example you can level wild shot up to 20 with beginner books but once you want to level it to 21 you will need an Intermidiate book. (not sure the level when it jumps to advance but I assume around 50)

There are also skills you can learn wildshot, chaos wind, deadly shot and at certain levels you are able to learn 1, then 2, then 3 skills etc.  If you have the skill points you can learn multiple skills dependent upon level.

You may have level 20 wild shot, level 2 deadly shot, level 3 chaos wind, and have 6 skill points left to allocate but no books to level up those skills.

You can buy books on the market or you can trade books with Goncourt ($1000 each).  So for example, if you have 15 wild shot Beg you can no longer use, you can trade them to Goncourt for books you trade 1 book and $1000g and he will give you a Modern/Medieval/Ancient book.  I am not certain but it seems Modern books give you Beg when opened, Medieval give you Int and Ancient give you Adv.  You can keep trading back to Goncourt as long as you have books and as long as you have gold.  Ancient books I can tell you sell on the market, depending on what skill they are for, from anywhere around $3000 - $250,000 gold so you can easily make back up the gold you traded Goncourt.  Hope that helps.

attaining a certain level and buying or acquiring skillbooks is all   youll ever need to take not in order to develop abilities.. you must also take not of the number of skill points you have in order to allocate to the skills you want to improve on...

also you should take not that some of the skills cant be learned by ordinary mercs,, there are some skills that only hero characters can learn so eventhough it is written in merc info that they can learn those skills, some advanced skills can only be learned by you hero class
