Misuse of a Mercenary

Well, I've read from some forums that a gunner type of mercenary is quite a powerful one, how come I can't feel its power? Do I just misuse the Gunner mercenary? Are there any tricks on how to use the gunner mercenary?

Use his wildshot ability. It has nice damage against enemies. I also saw in one of my friends which uses chaos wind, which has a splash damage. An awesome effect. I haven't had that ability, but I am looking towards getting it.
I do always use that skill of the gunner whenever I'm on a battle, but I don't still have that skill, so I believed that I must still wait for my gunner to become much stronger.

There was an update earlier that fixed somehow the success rate of a gunner's hit as well as it's damage. You are correct on observing that it gives a small amount of damage, i noticed that as well. In any case, it is mostly used by stun build teams and now, it has a more decent damage compared to before. At least that's what i noticed.
i find my gunner helpful since it is the only one among my mercs that can hurt a whole column. maybe you haven't levelled up her wild shot skill enough that's why you can't notice her power yet.
