I just knew how important guarding is. For those who is still a newbie like me(i am level 30+ but I still consider myself a newbie), if you use guard for a certain turn of your mercenary, the turn will be transfered to another mercenary who is not his turn yet. And if it is in the enemy's phase, the mercenary you have chosen to guard will try to block an enemy's attack. COol!

Yes. The moment you use your guard for one turn, the next mercenary will be the next one to move. I just tried it awhile ago during my turn, and this is what I do so that my main hero will always be the one to attack the dying monster last so that it can get much more higher exp.

Yeah, it's been very helpful to me, especially when enemy's attack a certain mercenary of mine. I'll use the guard on that mercenary so he had to defend the next time he will be attack. Too bad I just known this guard feature after 30 levels.
I rarely use the guard button, only when my mercenary is really low on health and there's no turn for my shaman. Yeah, it is pretty cool that it enables our mercenary to block an enemy's attack.
not advisable.. its best that if youre low on health, youd rather have him attack or do a skill or probably even a deadly strike... utilize your mercs as much as possible, dont save em especially when theyre low on health since it is sure that he will die the next turn.. mercs are there to take the fall for your hero, let em die so long as they do their purpose in battle... if you really want to preserve your character its best you move him to some safe position. the only use of guarding is to switch turns, nothing more. if you want to defend your dying merc, move him at the back
Hmm... never really looked at it that way. I'm used to trying to 'preserve' the life of my mercenary and my initial reaction when it is dying is to let it 'guard'... I'm still getting the hang of 'moving' it the game as well. But, what you does make sense! Thanks for the advice!

Nice tip. I only use guarding whenever I saw that the enemy is focusing on one mercenary. But once that mercenary is in danger aka low health, I let him attack and attack. A last ditch effort so to speak. So if ever that he died in the next turn, he have done some damage from the enemy than die useless.
