Well, I'm quite excited on how am I going to hire another mercenary again. I'm currently level 25, and I've read somewhere that the monk is very popular right now. I want to hire him already.+

a merc gets to join your party every after 10 levels. you can hire a monk now but i think at your level you're just allowed five mercs so if you want to have the monk during battle, you have to exchange it for another merc.
oh, and it's much cheaper to get a monk through a quest from Huike at Beijing.
