Basically it looks like we're going to get building and scripting tools a little bit like SecondLife. but with game play designed for gaming/fun instead of wasting CPU cycles.
Come on what more do you need to say an MMO that lowers it scope to have only a few core gameplay styles, the most notable being building your own towns and deforming the environment and a few more choices that brings community back to the game.
All made by one person, though a bit more reasonable in this case since he has a massive number libraries that he has as open source(that fit pretty well what he's doing). So there's actually experiance behind it.
Also the graphic style is going to stay the same though the graphics will be improved.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

Hmmm maybe secondlife isn't the right comparison. But you're given rich builder tools (including scripting tools for things like doors). And you're encouraged to use all the tools to their maxium, want to hack your enemies infrastructure(scripts) during an attack do so.
Although the developer did say that it didn't 'want' a game all about PvP so we really don't know what there will be in that aspect.

Personally I'm really excited for this game, it's so radically different and creative. I'm intirgued by all the procedural generation popping up in games these days.
At least it is innovative. Too many hold you by the hand theme parks lately have really given MMO's a bad name.
Yeah if CONTENT is what you interpret as hold you by the hand then yes I like being held by the hand.
lolzors, ...don't build hype. Lets wait for this indy game to release, and check if is any good. It seems creative, but...
It seems like an interesting idea, but we and the PC's are not ready for a decent game following this pattern just yet.It will be a low budget game, with a low budget look and feel.Maybe in another 7-8 years something like this can be done.
There would of course have to be some sort of limitation to editing, otherwise there is no world, just a bunch of people spending everyday, editing.Personally i think it should all be done outside of the actual playing world,by the developer,i don't want a total mess of a game ruined by clueless players.
It looks like a lot of simplistic structures and animations, witch is why this type of game is not ready for the market yet.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I don't get why this is anything
Looks like a very interesting concept, although I'm not too excited about the small server sizes. Either way, I'll have to keep an eye on this.
Maybe it is just me but I don't get it.
I mean it is a game where you can build and destroy things. That would be like playing Garry's mod minus the mod powers. What is the point of building when it is just going to be destroyed?
And if everyone can build things it seems like the lore and enviroment will suffer from everyones structures which will vary in quality and clutter up things.
I wouldn't expect to see organized cities arise or anything either, more like random buildings that people keep building for themselves and other half-assed structures.
I guess we have to wait for more information but conceptually it sounds wonky.
Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit
it's going to cost energy to 'change' stuff. and to get a decent amount to build what you want you're going to need to work with some people.
Servers are meant to be for 200 something people instead of 'everyone' so that means if you play on one server, you'll get to know everyone... Which also means you won't have a I can killzors people because I'm annoymous.

Looks like a good tech demo. That's pretty much it. Might be used some day to make some interesting 'Ico' like console games.
It is interactive art. And like any art, some will will never "get it".
I changed my mind. PlaneShift is not worth the time.
