This is a screen shot from Darkfall, 2004. this project was sold by Razorwax to Aventine (or however you spell it)

Now, with that in mind.. it looks like the new Darkfall (2005+) lost part of it's AC roots.. (one of the Darktide monarchs was helping to develop DF)
(note, the AC image is that of a Admin. No one in AC had over 500HP.)
And.. as usual.. We are down to 2 months that needs to have a beta and a release..

Added in 2003 it says, tho I can almost bet they'll came earlier on DFs official board during 2002. The other ones with more 'updated' graphics is from 2004.
But those dwarf picks are older.

http://darkfallworld.com/node/128 this was added by Evasia a few days ago... this is the 2008 graphics of Darkfall. It's going to be alot better then AC ever was or will ever be imo. I never was a fan of AC it was a decent game but Darkfall is gonna be THE turning point for the MMO community.
gotta love the game freezing up and crashing at the very end of that video. A sign of things to come...

AC defanitly shows its age, but did have the second best PvP outsde of UO.
i would actualy like if they took the basic ideas of AC, and used AoCs engine. yeah iwould play that

Don't know of any disconnect that locks the screen up and closes the entire application on you.
I've been disconnected plenty of times in MMO's and what happens is you still keep playing until you actually notice your not connected online.....

funny, because I can think of at least one game, Vanguard, that also crashes to desktop when there is no internet connection...
That was an obvious crash.
So much for all their internal professional testers and Bots.

Ok then lets agree that it was an obvious error on the server side and obviously not a planned disconnect by the user because he was surprised...
You can even HEAR the error sound before everything locks up...
I wasn't there, so I can only rely on the words of the member that attended the event...
He mentioned that it was the internet line that went down, not the server...the lost internet connection altogether...
If it was a simple disconnect of a modem for example.. it would not crash like that abruptly... the client would still keep running for some time and then the connection would eventually be dropped....
The client still runs but nothing on the server side operates like NPC's etc..
Listen to the video just before the crash happens.. you can clearly hear the little windows "bump" sound which is typical of an application crash..
ok, I'll say it again then: this is exactly the way Vanguard crashes on my machine, and I use ADSL connection...
the error sound is due to the crash of course, because there is an actual program crash after the connection failure...

How do you know that is not a crash in vanguard of the application and not a simpledisconnect? What your describing is a total crash.. not a disconnect
Like I said before -- when you disconnect from a server, the client still runs for some time. But the things controlled by the server don't operate anymore.
how do I know? because when I check my taskbar after the crash I see that I have no internet....

I've been disconnected plenty of times from Asherons call.. World of Warcraft.. and it simply does not happen that way when you get packet loss.

It has been proven that it was a disconnect due to the shotty internet. Fact, sorry. And even if it WAS a ctd...its still beta and do you know how many crashes still go on in WAR? please.....you guys just make DF look better and better everytime you make posts like this. People say "wow i better check out DF because look how scared these guys are forums are about it taking subs away from their games"
oh and to the guy trying to convince miscbattles it is a dc....STOP WASTING YOUR TIME. look at the guys post history. He has been banned several times and this is his latest account. It is a testament to how bad the moderation is on this site. He will eventually be banned again and youll see a new name. Then youll see him in game in DF

I've had to hard reboot my comp from a WAR disco'. It's possible that the game crashes when the connection is lost. You two are in agreement but refuse to agree to agree.
