I know theres a vocal group of people who were expecting, and even demanding, that Bioware's SW mmo be essentially swg 2. That was never the plan and its not going to happen, nor do they "owe" it to anyone to make it swg 2. I'm willing to wait and see if its any good or not. Condemning (or overly praising) SW:TOR based on the scant info we know is foolish.
Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic because of the little info I've seen some of it sounds promising. I like that the timeline has been changed from swg's because it offers more freedom when it comes to any storylines they wish to pursue. Being a jedi (or sith) makes sense here. The companion idea is interesting, too. Having unique story lines for each class is a good idea because it encourages people to roll alts and experience the game from a different perspective. Theres going to be instances but it doesn't sound like its going to be a huge part of the game with most of the action being in the open world.
I know this is going to get some people to spew out some of their nerd rage, but I'll be happy if its a Star Wars version of WoW. I'm getting tired of almost every mmo being fantasy based with dwarfs, elves, wizards, mana and all the rest. Theres no decent sci-fi based mmo's out there to play right now (sorry but swg and EVE just don't cut it) and if SW:TOR is a fun game that works then count me in.
Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?
Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

Anarchy Online is sci-fi, has a lot of depth and is still pretty fun.
Well the way they describe it I get the vibe that storyline is gonna be the biggest part of the game ( just like in every Bioware game). So basiclly this game will be pretty much quest based, and if people are hoping for a very open ended game, this probably wont be the one. But to those who love the story telling, or the ablity to alter the story in someway then they will probably love it. Of course this is all speculation since we know almost nothing.
