Do not try to download the client, I tried and now am under constant virus attacks on port 39882 (UDP). Its irritating to try to DL the game only to find its a giant virus. Do not open yourself up to what I'm currently experiencing.

The game is dead not, this game is good we make it and Romania Tv give it 5 goat heads, this is good rating for game.

post of the forums if you are having such issues. I don't see any other reports of this are you sure you aren't exposed in some other way such as through programs like limewire?

Did you fall into the trap, turning off anti-virus/firewall while downloading.
I just downloaded the Client on my home office PC and its fine.
I kept my anti-virus and firewall up.
hope you can fix your problem.

yep, all good here
How do you figure you were under constant virus attacks on 39882? How did you notice this anyways, is it forwarded to your computer?
There is to my knowledge not a single application that uses that port by default, so why would anyone "attack" it? Could it be that you simply have a dynamic address and someone before you used 39882 for his torrent/emule/whatever, now you got his ip from the pool, and now you're getting bombarded with connection attempts?
I mean, how should downloading something from a content delivery network result in an "attack" on a totally irrelevant port that nobody uses? Or did your "firewall" (personal firewalls do not count as firewalls btw.) tell you you were under "attack"? If yes, personal firewalls tell you you were "under attack" under many situations where you are not.
If you can't provide some proof that limelight tries to "attack" you (that's where you downloaded the client btw., if you use the official website), i'll declare your post as simple fud.
p.s. Personal Firewalls are a security risk. Get a router, and you're perfectly safe from anything that goes around the internet as long as you don't forward anything to you. No need to install software that can be bypassed easily, give a false sense of security, and will happily set your dns servers on a blacklist if someone fakes a few packets, thus cutting you from the net..
aren't you the guy that used to come here and just irrationally bash the game, even when there wasn't a reason to?
could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?
No, he's not that guy. I had the same feeling, so I took a peek in his posting history, and it's been mostly pro-EVE, or at least reasonably sane neutrality.
What legit program would be expected to receive packets sent on UDP at that number
I mean send something on UDP is a hit or miss. Haven't checked if there are any known applications that are set to recieve data on that port. So if a virus is sending something on this UDP would there also not be a reason for the creater on the assumed virus to expect a program using this port.
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.

lol nice.
