Mythic Entertainment has announced details of Warhammer Online's new Heavy Metal in-game event, as well as details of the new Knights of the Blazing Sun and the Black Guard classes. All of which will be implemented in the game in November.
The Age of Reckoning has dawned
Across the Old World and on the island home of the High Elves, bitter enemies clash in bloody skirmishes and mighty battles. For the soldiers of Order and Destruction, there is no respite and no mercy. Now, the warring factions will gain new allies in the form of the fearsome Black Guard and the cunning Knight of the Blazing Sun. These heavily-armored soldiers race to the battlefront to anchor their realms' defenses and ensure that for every inch of ground given, the enemy pays in bitter blood.
With a thunderous war-cry and the ringing of steel on steel, the battle begins anew, with neither side willing to retreat or surrender.
New In-Game Live Event Introduces Two New Careers to WAR!
The war has begun, and you've joined the forces of Order or Destruction, taking up arms with your realm-mates on the field of battle. You've conquered your foes in scenarios, stormed enemy-held keeps, raised your banners over battlefield objectives and banded together to thwart your enemies in public quests.
This November, we're bringing you a new challenge in the form of WAR's upcoming live event: Heavy Metal!

FIrst.........KotBS look weak.....This is mythics way of keeping people from going to WotLK....Smart marketing actually......But it wont matter......
WARHAMMER is slowly dying....Sad....Every day it gets harder for me to log in.....and i was so geeked to play this game......
Cest la vie........
KOTBS were one of my favorite class's in beta. I will be playing this game for quite sometime. So whats that say about your theory. Slowly dying my ass. Of course people are leaving the game, they have short attention spans. They will go back to whatever "other" game, then move onto another. Once they find that new game, they play it for a month and follow the crowd and blast it. Then move on yet again. People are moving into this cycle where they somehow think one mmorpg is going to just launch and be so amazingly perfect. But they will never find this one game. Instead they will just continue moving onto other games wasting even more money.
Let's start here (and you heard it from me first):
1. You will play DF for two weeks and go into the cycle again.
2. You will play STO for two weeks and go back into the cycle again.
3. You will play SWTOR for two and a half weeks and go back into the cycle yet again.
These games won't change your short attention span. All mmo's will revolve around the same basics. It's what makes them an mmo, but somehow you passed that. Ask me this one question. If you did find that perfect MMO and lets say it was Mortal Online, would you admit it? Or would you just leave the game because its become a ghost town? Or because your friend thought the trees looked out of place. Or because some random forum poster stated he thought the mounts looked horrid and canceled his account?
What i'm getting at is this. People need to quit thinking games are jobs. Games are meant for enjoyment. If you don't enjoy the game then move on. Don't be over zealous and think some forum post will help your cause. Just find another game that pleases you. It's really not that hard. Think of it like your favorite food. When you were 6, you may have loved eating pizza. But now that your in your 20's, your taste has changed and now your favorite food is shrimp and you cannot stand pizza. You wouldn't go to a foods board to proclaim that pizza is just god awful, or about to die, would you? Just enjoy gaming, and quit making these posts that do nothing. Try for a change, posting something informational. Or just ask someone for a hug. Maybe thats what you really need.
Kotbs looks awesome, the new sketches of the epic armor are just sweet. The fact YOU don't personally like it doesn't make it less valid.
guillible people can as well try wotlk, just to come back two weeks after after they notice it's just the same old soup served in the same old way, a trough borefest.
Fixed because these are opinions, yet they are stated like facts.
I don't understand why people do this... sure, some players have left, which happens. From what I've seen though, people are just spread out as they level at different speeds and play scenarios. Plus, I love the way KotBS look and can't wait to try them.
So stop talking about your thoughts as though they're facts.
both classes look sick, KotBs looks so much better than chosen too, both tanks they are putting in, i would play over any of the others
Hmmm...this event starts right before the second month of subscription payments is due to hit. What a coincidence. I wonder what inducement the folks at Mythic will use around the middle of December.

"People love groups. Its a fallacy that people want to play solo all the time." - Scott Hartsman, Executive Producer, Rift
Glad to see they can juggle completing the game with adding new content for those already playing it. Also, glad to see they didn't stick it to the players with an expansion.
