    Grrrr, finally a contest that i could actually be here for at 6pm est....i have a gig friday night.

    i never understood why u guys did the contests at 9pm est. Not all gamers are big fat smelly dorks that have no friends and sit home on friday nights...my god.

    if u guys were gonna change it u could have done it LONG b4 now...give ppl more than a weeks notice.image

    Note that 9PMEST is 6PM PST...not everyone lives on the east coast.  We cannot try to think about people's social lives when we pick contest times - but we do try to consider things they can't control like work or school.

    Why are europeans getting spots in the North American Beta,they are gonna have a European beta,...we gonna have a chance to get some of those slots?Also,i don't think Sony wants ppl from Europe testing during north american version,that defeats the purpose.They want ppl in North America...

    claith, SOE asked us to draw 20 beta winners for them across all of our members.  They will give the appropriate beta account based on where the member lives.  EU members will not get NA beta accounts...

    I think 9PMEST is more then reasonable and im happy about the change.

    To those who are complaining , you obviously dont want it that badly because if you did youd cancel whatever plans you have to try and win.

    Not sure if you are reading this whole topic...

    YES there was complaining...but not from Europeans.  The complaints came from WEST COAST USA/CANADA members...and they had a legitimate gripe...the contest was scheduled at 3PM PST right in the middle of work and school.  This was a major oversight on our part and so we fixed it.  We stated we would do this within 24 hours of launching the contest.  Just read this topic.

    I have never lied to this community...so I don't know where you are getting that.

    I really don't understand what all the confusion was about. I don't see why everyone needs to be split into 2 groups we are all human.... with a few exceptions.

    Ironically I live in Western Canada. . . Anyway, the flaw in your logic as to why you don't do this conventionally is this: If you draw twice as many names as prizes, and this seems to work for you, then it follows that if you draw twice as many names BUT reward the first half of the draw, then wait 12 hours, then reward the remainder to the second half, this must surely work also. Thus alleviating the bullshit scramble to see if you were drawn at an exact time. . .

    Thank you for your feedback.  We are going to try some different things on our next couple contests (one of which will launch in less than an hour from now).

    Also note that we just made a correction the time for the EU contest.  The drawing will be 5PM EDT or (21:00 UTC/GMT).  My apologies for that, I forgot about the daylight saving time bit.

    It would be the current time in New York, USA...which is EDT (Eastern Daylight Time).  This is what EST is called during Daylight Saving Time.

    PS  From 7PM to 8AM I work and HAVE NO ACCESS to internet.  I'm sure there are MANY like me.  This is the most unfair way to hold any contest, I'll tell you that.

    You realise that MMORPG is not going to change the contest because A FEW PEOPLE dont like
    the time. This is a favor MMORPG is doing for everyone...

    So if the drawing is 5pm/17:00 then it should be 6pm/18:00 here in Norway?

    If you find any spelling mistakes you can keep them.

    It never ceases to amaze me how people that are so ignorant are allowed to even live. To post things like that in nature, just goes to show that there are way too many racist, sexist, bigots in this world.

    I'll not flame here about how much whining I hear on a regular basis from many North Americans, but hey.. to each his or her own.
