That is the catch all that "good bye / I quit" threads were locked with. Major hypocrisy to only apply it one way.

FC never enforced that rule in regards to the Anarchy Online forums, there is a long standing tradition of saying good bye and summing up your AO experience on the forums when you retired from the game.

I started my "crusade" against FC couple of weeks ago because I honestly think the game is really bad and I was fed up with FC lying to us. I decided to do my small part in burning them to the ground so that us, the community, would get better service next time.
I've posted here hundreds of times. I've had many discussions with you with different accounts I've had maybe total of 20 different accounts here. Why so many? Well, because I've been banned a lot.
I think my first ban came when I accused Avery of getting money or steak dinners from FC. He didn't like it I guess. Every now and then I had to call out these shills here and every now and then I got banned again. No big deal, I could always make a new account. I have this "system" with which I can make another account in a minute without much hassle. I've been calling out and maybe even harrased these shills because they piss me off and ruin the community. I don't think I've ever broken any other rules in RoC.
After maybe 3-4 bans things changed. I didn't get a warning, just a ban. And I would get a ban for doing nothing. One post - ban. Two posts - ban. I even got one ban a minute after I had made a new account. Clearly there was a mod waiting for me with his finger on a button. And all this while I didn't break any RoC.
For example today I made a new account (I was banned during the night) and I started a regular post asking about what people wanted for possible new endgame content. Instant ban, that thread deleted and couple of other posts deleted too. My whole account was wiped out of existence.
I sent email to MMORPG today hoping they would remove me from the blacklist. We'll have to see how it goes.
You probably won't be hearing from me (using this account) again because I don't expect to live much longer But I'll meet on the battlefield with a different name.

Thats what I mean by blinded by hate. I have nothing wrong with people wanting to tell others why they quit a game. I respect FC decision to lock these threads on the official boards. If only people here (well quite a few do) can put across what they have to say in a constructive manner. In most cases with these people there are ulterior motives. Drop the name calling + harressment for a start and without the BS a good discussion can take place. Thats why I like these forums because of less limitations, I appreciate the FC ones but the style is not favoured by myself.
For me it goes back to what I said previously, you have to question the bigger picture as to why you get a ban. A lot goes down to not being able to point your point across decently. It's not about an "us" vs "them" otherwise nothing will ever get solved. I've noticed quite a few people whose "account" doesn't exist anymore in the search function. Talk about ruining the "community", is that ruining on purpose or ruining because their helping ruin it without even knowing... We are all just Neaderthal's at the end of the day :P
Haha thats just hillarious. I say good on them for not letting that whiney cry baby shit get toataly out of control like it does on every other MMO forum. Really, its their business they can run it how they want to. I will say the guy who got banned for posting a bug report and bumping it got a real raw deal, I believe he is telling the truth. But most people who have been "unjustly" banned from forums usually had it coming.
That is wrong way of thinking my friend. FC used this strategy and look what happened to them. 90% of players left.
Sure they can run their business how they want to and go bankrupt OR maybe, just maybe give customers good quality service and try not to piss them off.
I mean when you ban people for standing on a ROCK while attacking mobs, you pretty much know where the game is going.
I knew there would be people highlighting that part of my post and saying something about Funcoms business practices. The game is not good, thats why they're losing players. Theres been plenty of MMO companies that are active in banning players both from the game and forums for many reasons and they still maintained a healthy player base this short a time after launch. To suggest banning mouthy tards just looking to troll and start trouble on the forums or exploiters from the game is the reason why AoC is not doing well is laughable. Just say the game sucks, it does, thats why its not doing well. No reason to come up with BS excuses because "Im leaving the game!!!" threads get locked/deleted, good riddance those are just a waste of space and serve no purpose but a lot of whining.
And dont say that a lot of people provide solid civil critisism in threads like that, because anyone who's played MMO's knows that they dont.
Not that I agree with Nazi moderation, SOE ruined official forums for me, so I really don't visit them any longer. The problem is everyone knows how FC handles their forums, you know if you post about an issue more than once it's going to get deleted, you're going to get warned or banned then you're going to come here to start a thread on it. Wow, I have to say it really surprised me that Malickie posted my PM for all to see. Personally I respect other peoples privacy a lot and would never post PM's to general public. I think it tells a lot about character when a person does that. It's not that big of a deal because I could have started a new thread about this subject if it hadn't been against RoC. It's not like this was a "secret" PM or anything. Everything I said is 100% truth and I still feel the same way. But in my eyes it still doesn't give him the right to use my PM like this. Respect is lost, that's for sure.
Someone re-subbing is different to someone leaving and going on a bender about it.
When someone leaves they do for a purpose, when someone comes back things might be different and they want to know whats going on or new.
Guy has a point. If I had a shop and a customer was ranting in front of everyone I would push them outside and give them a good kicking...well maybe not a kicking but I certainly wouldn't allow them in again. On the flip side if a person came in and was ranting how great my shop was I would stand back and smile. Its not rocket science people.
Difference is would you get pissed off enough to go get some t-shirts printed up pay for them, and hold a grudge for 5 months with every opportunity you get to kick up a fuss, even though you have nothing to do with that store anymore, to continue into the future. Most people just move on, some people can't let it go - all over a video game.. I just can't see anyone I know with that kind of persistent resentment, with which one game apparently turned their life upside down to such an extent, that it fuels a 'crusade'.
There are proper channels to follow to do the right thing if you have felt wronged.
It's the lengths some go to that I just can't get my mind around the mentality.
Simple fact is there are rules on the forums for the official games, people can freely talk about them on boards like this. They might not all be P.C. but I respect them.
People went on such a crusade against Funcom not because of the effect the game had on their lives, but because of Funcom's arrogance. It is human nature to take great joy in ripping on a loser who thinks they are the greatest thing going around. Funcom shipped junk and then sent Ellignson out in his Gucci suit to tell everyone how awesome the game is and how the features listed on the box are "just around the corner". Funcom created the crusade by being so smug about their horrible product, and treating their playerbase like a bunch of idiots.
Funcom have found a magnificant way to get entire online communities spewing hatred towards them. Do all the haters have a problem? or does Funcom have a problem?

Just for anyone who may not have been around the FC forums let me just say that to say that people were banned or topics locked had it coming is absolutely 100% a lie. Sure there were some but there were many that were banned because they didnt announce theor love of AOC to the world and instead made on topic suggestions. Of course as is typical in an area so heavily patrolled by rent-a-cop moderators you wont find those posts because THEY WERE DELETED.
And some of you wonder why people stick around to advise people on who they are dealing with if they choose to play AOC. Shame on you all.
And be careful because they are trying to do the same here. Apparently there is a move afoot to spam the abuse button here to get people banned if they dont toe the AOC line. I dont blame MMORP but it does seem that they need to read posts alittle closer when they are reported. Hopefully if accounts that have been around for sometime are banned for discussing the blatant viral marketing going on here then the obvious multi-accounting viral marketers have been similarily banned.

P.S. keep the drama to Pm's. You're derailing the whole thread with your ranting. Have you figured out why you keep getting banned yet? It's not a conspiracy against you, that much is certain. You need only look at what you write and how you present yourself. Just for anyone who may not have been around the FC forums let me just say that to say that people were banned or topics locked had it coming is absolutely 100% a lie. Sure there were some but there were many that were banned because they didnt announce theor love of AOC to the world and instead made on topic suggestions. Of course as is typical in an area so heavily patrolled by rent-a-cop moderators you wont find those posts because THEY WERE DELETED. And some of you wonder why people stick around to advise people on who they are dealing with if they choose to play AOC. Shame on you all.
And be careful because they are trying to do the same here. Apparently there is a move afoot to spam the abuse button here to get people banned if they dont toe the AOC line. I dont blame MMORP but it does seem that they need to read posts alittle closer when they are reported. Hopefully if accounts that have been around for sometime are banned for discussing the blatant viral marketing going on here then the obvious multi-accounting viral marketers have been similarily banned.
I'm sure there are those who were banned without provocation. That's what happens when you have a forum mess on your hands. I've seen it on the AOC board, SOE(swg) boards and even here. The problem is when you have a mess of a forum, moderators get testy even the professionals.
No one is surprised that there are people here who attempt to give a fair view of what to expect as a FC customer. That's perfectly legit, I doubt many would disagree. The problems stem from those who have ulterior motives on both sides. They blend in to the group with legitimate gripes, yet resort to abusive actions to solidify their point.
As for this site and its moderation.
When there's so much of this going on, what is a moderator to do? They're bound to make mistakes from time to time, that's why they allow you to petition about your dismissal. If you do this right off the bat, there's a greater chance of regaining your posting privileges. On the other hand if you simply make an alt account and attempt to blend in as a new user, don't let it be known. Otherwise you're going to get snagged again.

Long standing FC forum rule. "Posting of any account details is prohibited.".
That is the catch all that "good bye / I quit" threads were locked with. Major hypocrisy to only apply it one way.
Side Note ~ Fun Fact:
FC never enforced that rule in regards to the Anarchy Online forums, there is a long standing tradition of saying good bye and summing up your AO experience on the forums when you retired from the game.

I started my "crusade" against FC couple of weeks ago because I honestly think the game is really bad and I was fed up with FC lying to us. I decided to do my small part in burning them to the ground so that us, the community, would get better service next time.
I've posted here hundreds of times. I've had many discussions with you with different accounts
I've had maybe total of 20 different accounts here. Why so many? Well, because I've been banned a lot.
I think my first ban came when I accused Avery of getting money or steak dinners from FC. He didn't like it I guess. Every now and then I had to call out these shills here and every now and then I got banned again. No big deal, I could always make a new account. I have this "system" with which I can make another account in a minute without much hassle. I've been calling out and maybe even harrased these shills because they piss me off and ruin the community. I don't think I've ever broken any other rules in RoC.
After maybe 3-4 bans things changed. I didn't get a warning, just a ban. And I would get a ban for doing nothing. One post - ban. Two posts - ban. I even got one ban a minute after I had made a new account. Clearly there was a mod waiting for me with his finger on a button. And all this while I didn't break any RoC.
For example today I made a new account (I was banned during the night) and I started a regular post asking about what people wanted for possible new endgame content. Instant ban, that thread deleted and couple of other posts deleted too. My whole account was wiped out of existence.
I sent email to MMORPG today hoping they would remove me from the blacklist. We'll have to see how it goes.
You probably won't be hearing from me (using this account) again because I don't expect to live much longer
But I'll meet on the battlefield with a different name.

Thats what I mean by blinded by hate. I have nothing wrong with people wanting to tell others why they quit a game. I respect FC decision to lock these threads on the official boards. If only people here (well quite a few do) can put across what they have to say in a constructive manner. In most cases with these people there are ulterior motives. Drop the name calling + harressment for a start and without the BS a good discussion can take place. Thats why I like these forums because of less limitations, I appreciate the FC ones but the style is not favoured by myself.
For me it goes back to what I said previously, you have to question the bigger picture as to why you get a ban. A lot goes down to not being able to point your point across decently. It's not about an "us" vs "them" otherwise nothing will ever get solved. I've noticed quite a few people whose "account" doesn't exist anymore in the search function. Talk about ruining the "community", is that ruining on purpose or ruining because their helping ruin it without even knowing... We are all just Neaderthal's at the end of the day :P

Sure they can run their business how they want to and go bankrupt OR maybe, just maybe give customers good quality service and try not to piss them off.

Theres been plenty of MMO companies that are active in banning players both from the game and forums for many reasons and they still maintained a healthy player base this short a time after launch. To suggest banning mouthy tards just looking to troll and start trouble on the forums or exploiters from the game is the reason why AoC is not doing well is laughable. Just say the game sucks, it does, thats why its not doing well. No reason to come up with BS excuses because "Im leaving the game!!!" threads get locked/deleted, good riddance those are just a waste of space and serve no purpose but a lot of whining.
And dont say that a lot of people provide solid civil critisism in threads like that, because anyone who's played MMO's knows that they dont.

It's a matter of my house my rules, that was the point behind that analogy. If I like my roast beef a little more rare than you, and my dishes aren't sparkly enough for you, don't come to eat at my house. I think that's pretty much the intended message when you get banned, from any forum.

lmao thats so true. I get really tired of these food analogies with MMO's. Who the hell started that madness anyways? I can live with it if my MMO of choice is not USDA aproved...but I think everyone is a little more picky with their food stuffs.

Wow, I have to say it really surprised me that Malickie posted my PM for all to see. Personally I respect other peoples privacy a lot and would never post PM's to general public. I think it tells a lot about character when a person does that. It's not that big of a deal because I could have started a new thread about this subject if it hadn't been against RoC. It's not like this was a "secret" PM or anything. Everything I said is 100% truth and I still feel the same way. But in my eyes it still doesn't give him the right to use my PM like this. When someone leaves they do for a purpose, when someone comes back things might be different and they want to know whats going on or new.
Guy has a point. If I had a shop and a customer was ranting in front of everyone I would push them outside and give them a good kicking...well maybe not a kicking but I certainly wouldn't allow them in again. On the flip side if a person came in and was ranting how great my shop was I would stand back and smile. Its not rocket science people.
Difference is would you get pissed off enough to go get some t-shirts printed up pay for them, and hold a grudge for 5 months with every opportunity you get to kick up a fuss, even though you have nothing to do with that store anymore, to continue into the future. Most people just move on, some people can't let it go - all over a video game.. I just can't see anyone I know with that kind of persistent resentment, with which one game apparently turned their life upside down to such an extent, that it fuels a 'crusade'.
There are proper channels to follow to do the right thing if you have felt wronged.

People went on such a crusade against Funcom not because of the effect the game had on their lives, but because of Funcom's arrogance. It is human nature to take great joy in ripping on a loser who thinks they are the greatest thing going around. Funcom shipped junk and then sent Ellignson out in his Gucci suit to tell everyone how awesome the game is and how the features listed on the box are "just around the corner". Funcom created the crusade by being so smug about their horrible product, and treating their playerbase like a bunch of idiots.
Funcom have found a magnificant way to get entire online communities spewing hatred towards them. Do all the haters have a problem? or does Funcom have a problem?
