Best idea in the whole wide world for new MMO!

New game out called "Mirror's Edge", I have tried the demo on Xbox 360 and it's out for PlayStation 3 also.

Check trailer here! on YouTube.

Imagine the look and core gameplay of that game in a new MMO called "Hide and Seek"

So there is two faction to choose from, right? Seek faction and the Hide faction.

Seek faction will seek out the hiders and the Hide faction will hide from the seekers.

Brilliant?

And of course with juicy character creation and customization...

Crafting? Say no more.

You will be able to craft own buildings with your own hiding places! And of course be able to rent out apartments for people who just like to RP!

That is not all you will also be able to shop, shop and shop. Shop what?

Cloth, gear, make you run faster and of course electric pistol to stop the hiders from running to far, maybe.

... I got so much more juicy details

(By the way, no more need for endless grinding to level up! Leveling does not exist in this world.)

Just pure MMO with patches full of new cloth and tattoo's for your unique character and new eletric pistol, maybe a shotgun. And even maybe some wicked furnitures for your own apartment.

A total open world with room to build some buildings in. And a underground subway, a complete large city for you to explore and live as a seeker or a hider, your choice, endless choices.

You can even make your special guild or cult of hiders, be the best hiders in the world and nobody will find you!

If you feel bored, take time to shop some new gear, cloth or build a new unique building as your new headquarters for your special guild or cult of hiders.

News-flash! You can now take prisoners! Lock them in your cage, in your apartment.

And all characters will be able to have a iPhone if they get in trouble, call your friend to bust you out of the cage! You can track them up, all iPhone have a tracking device.

I got more so much more, want more?

so let me get this straight - you want  a MMO with people running around and jumping off of stuff?

Do you know what this game would be?

    TOTAL FAILURE

I'm kinda critical. Having the 2 classes implemented in a big MMO will work off course, like a clan of ninjas or criminals and a police force but youll need a lot more groups to make things intresting.

Here is another great idea: Make a shadowrun RPG. The runners will be hunted by the cops of a lot of different corps (factions) which they operate against. The hired cops will also do things against other corps including wars, cover ups and hiring in runners.

Bang, that would actually work. 2 factions isn't the greatest thing in a game anyways, it will be unbalanced easy.

Shadowrun with a number of mega corps, may they be player run or npc run would be really cool. Use a decker to steal the map of the place, plan it with your team and use stealth and finess. Together with the plays and covert war between the mega corps it would make an excellent PvP based MMO. One day you hire in a few runners to steal the latest tech or sabotage it from your worst competioner, next day the same gang are trying to infiltrate your place. And you could have traps, cameras and so on placeable and buyable by real players.

Still, your idea is not enough to make a MMO out of, it works nice as a part of one however.

Why some people need to trash any idea that comes from a forumer?  Keep your bitter feelings for yourself. You have no idea if that would fail or not.

Looks like a quite good idea to me.

It would actually work.  I'd totally play it it just wouldn't be as an MMO but as a game to play in inbetween times.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

This is a polished version of a game Ubisoft released last year http://www.freerunning.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNazzkaG2EY developed by eidos apparently. It seems FR's claim to fame should really be as a source of a game mechanic used in Assassin's Creed. This new one looks decent. Could be the music adding to it tho.

I was onboard until the hide & seek bit began.  A first-person MMORPG, with a persistant world, that was not centered around shooting (and, perhaps, didn't actually bother with guns at all) could be extremely good and very unique in the current MMO landscape.  More specifically, let's say Ubi used the freerunning aspects from Mirror's Edge, and used it to make a Prince of Persia MMORPG.  Consider that for a moment.

    Playing: Nothing
Played: Champions Online, CoX, STO, PSO, WoW, lots of free-to-play crap
Looking Forward To: DC Universe Online, Blade and Soul

Ya there was one like that. It was called Myst Online.. or URU..  Adventure puzzle solving MMOG of failure.

Unique does NOT sell. Familiar sells. Sex sells too...

    maybe make a sex MMO.

I agree with a few others. He lost me at the Hide and Seek bit. Other then that it was a nice idea, perhaps a few tweaks to it and some intelligent developers behind it, it would have a good potential. Just lose the hide and seek part. That just turns my interest off from the idea.

LMAO.  This post so reminded me of the skit that Monty Python did with the olympic hide and seek competition.  One guy starts to count and the other guy jumps in a car to go hide anywhere in the world.  After a couple minutes the seeker starts looking around like 10 feet away. LOL  Later they show the hider like in another country and he keeps looking to see if the seeker is coming.  LIke 10 years later he finally finds him, or rather he finds his skeleton or something.  I just love Monty Python.  Those guys were on some good drugs alright.
