when beating monsters, there is a certain amount added to your onhand money. is there a calculation for that? does it have anything to do with exp gained or onhand money?

I think it's random for each monster... it's just that each monster gives an estimated amount of gold (say within 3-5k of a certain amount). Obviously, higher level monsters give higher gold than others.
