my Froth and Foaming (tm) allows me super powers of knowledge and official forum trolling....and as far as im aware there is still every intention of having an open beta. any hint that there would not be, in any language anywhere, would have erupted on the official forums by now.

I'm rather sure most everyone on these forums would agree with me. Face it, anyone saying "no beta"; is saying "no success". I'm rather sure Adventurine knows this, if not...Screw them.

About the open beta, I bet it will be over a weekend, maybe start on a thursday and go to a sunday night, then release in the following week. Alot of people on the main forums have speculated they will just use the open beta as a server stress test. Makes sense, then they can see what hardware they would need to add on to keep the servers going strong. And whoever in this post said it was going to be around 10000 people invite, I would tend to agree with that number if only a little higher, maybe 15000 people, just to see how there que system works and all. Also to make sure they have that server maxed out as long as possible.

Even if they give 10k invites out that would still be less than 10% of the people who have applied.
Aventurine do not seem to be the kind of company that would give more invites than what they would actually need for testing purposes.

About the open beta be or not to be. At the Athens Event they announced "The end of OPEN BETA in beginning of december" there will be an open beta.
