Thought Id try a change from eq2 and got this game 2 weeks ago, and its fantastic!
Love the polish.. and a rich world with content around every corner.
After 2 weeks playing, although I admit I played alot of scenarios, Ive been able to open RvR (keep sieges, and defending) almost daily. The huge running battles as the enemy is overwhelmed as they attack the keep.... and their dogged persistence is annoying! Its been a huuuuge amount of fun so far and plenty more to come.
Once thing I'd like to see changed though is that (t3 anyway) killing the keep lord should drop a gauraunteed armor set chest piece.m would this encourage more to open rvr? Its not really an issue on our server as the battles are regular and huge tho.
Also, another suggestion is that chat should not be based soley on region. there should be a lvl range based chat (i.e. 10-19, 20-29 and so on) to help facilitate faster mobilisation of people and even more rvr in the event of keep attacks. atm, only those in current region will know which often means less resistance.
Also got my wife to try Warhammer on my account for an hour, thats all it took lol she cant stay away from it, it was a pity I had to buy a second box tho

lol well im glad that you enjoy the game.btw what server do you play on? its sounds like you picked a good one if your having that much activitie. im playing on ironfist i agree its been alot of fun. They do need to make rvr worth more but idk if giving a set piece of armor every time you kill him would work. anyways glad your having fun

Tell me how well do you like WAR? Is it very good? What is population? Can you give me some of your really good population surveys over all the WAR servers?
if I get bored of scenarios, rvr then lately I go help in a public quest going on, or get some friends and goto Mt Gumbad
Thats also another thing i love about this game, lots of variety. not necessarily always forced to RVR and the PVE content so far has been good, but alot of those little quests are repetitive and need to see more Mt Gumbads lol! or maybe there is and i havent seen it yet..
tho mostly have been doing rvr stuff, the pve is a nice sidetrack also, but I like the emphasis on rvr
Glad to hear you are having fun. It only gets better too! On my server, Ostermark, we finally have a healthy number of T4 players on both sides that are on throughout the day. You can jump on most anytime and find some good open RvR now. We have been having some amaziing battles through the streets of Praag here in the past few days.....I mean even down to having to go house-to-house and clearing! It is soooo fun! Anyways.....glad you shared your positive experience. I am sure this will turn into another troll fest with the usual posts about all that the Mr-Know-It-Alls would "fix" to make their perfect game but pay it no mind.....none of us do either.

I loved WAR, and it mysteriously found its way into the same category of games as LotRO...."Games I love, but don't play for some unknown reason."
I quit playing due to a time issue, and nearly everyday I tell myself that I should just get off my ass and re-install it. This thread has gotten me off of my aforementioned ass and installing it. Thanks a lot guys for the positive feedback, and re-introducing me to a game I love.

I bought the game when it first came out and I just love this game, it's awesome. The more time I spend in it the more I like it, when you reach tier 4 it really starts to suck you in, the best part ( one of.. ) is that there is so many cool classess in the game !

I played EQ2 for awhile. Everquest 2 is pretty much the master of PVE content. Actually the PVP in EQ2 is better than WAR.. I found WAR PVE short sighted and boring and the PVP pretty much the same. I'm an ex-daoc player so my expectations of what Mythic put out may of been higher then yours. But hey as long as your enjoying it thats all that matters. There is just not enough in this game to keep me interested like many others have stated. Good Luck

I play EQ2 as well and it is the best pve out there -- but the pvp is absolutely HORRIBLE. WAR PVP is better, in fact there is no comparison. None.

no more so than any mmo . its less dull than wow if you get a good server theres a lot of action . eltharion is good in europe . warhammer does need a few things changing like any mmo but like say warcraft or lord of the rings its a very strong solid game .
it really all depends what makes you bored . if you get bored of repedative instances then wows not for you , if you get bored of space trading and space battles eve is nt for you , if you get bored of group pve questing lord of the rings is nt for you and if you get bored of constant world pvp battles and skirmishes warhammer is nt for you .

I have been in this game since last November as a CB tester and have seen many changes come and go. The game truly has potential and hope Mythic doesnt get lazy about their mmo and keeps listening to its user base on ideas and information on how this could be another powerful mmo game to hit the market.
If the game is pushed in the right direction, it will join many of the ongoing mmorpg's that we have out there that have 3+ years under their belt and keeps a healthy user base.
The game might not cater alot of the mmo players, but it will have its niche market crowd supporting this game for a long time. We have seen many haters and fanboys, but remember, the haters can only last so long till they find that certain mmo that they crave and they will always critize the latest mmo on the market if it doesnt suite their needs.
A test of time will be this games outcome and we can only hope for the best. I like that their is a new kid on the block that can give challenges to other mmo's out there, because in this new age of gaming, we need competition to stay fresh with new ideas and how they can make their game better than the other.

I thought the PvP in EQ2 sucked. The way you buy skills makes you a lot more dependent on your character and a lot less on your own skills than most games. A new players can't really beat an old one that have a high level char and sent gold or even a kid who bought gold. In the PvP sence it have nothing at all on Guildwars or War for that matter.
PvE wise it is a great game though.
To the OP: Good, but you shouldn't be too happy until you hit max level, any new MMO is always funny the first levels. Hopefully you still like it at 40 and then you'll have found your favorite game but many people get bored from noob to max level in any game. But good luck, it is hard to find a gamy you really love
Recently, as in the past year or so, I've gotten into the mode of bouncing from mmo to mmo. I've played LOTRO, Saga of Ryzom, Eq2, WoW, Eve, Aoc and quite a few ftp mmos. Nothing could really hold my attention for more then a month. Ever since I've started playing War (in the open beta) I've been having a blast every time I log in. I found a decent server, joined an active guild, and I have not run out of entertaining things to do. If you travel around the different zones, you shouldn't have any problems finding some orvr action during most times of the day. The game does have it's faults, but for me, at least, the fun I'm having definitely out weighs any negatives I've encountered.

Are you in the Bargaining-stage of Griefing now?
AoC is dying in it's cancer and you are trying to find yourself a new partner?
In AoC you maybe had to prove yourself "How much I love this piece of turd?", in WAR you're in or you're out. And if you happened to land on low population server, you can transfer your character to a more populated one. Lovely, isn't it.
If you happen to be playing in EU, welcome to Eltharion. It's propably the most populated EU server and has OpenRvR -ruleset.
I've been playing this game from release and I absolutely love it!
It has some issues, updates are coming almost daily and it looks like devs are really listening to their players.
Of course, some people will find this game not their's cup of tea, as it is with any game. To each its own. in my opinion, for any mmo fan this game is definitely a must try.

I like WAR alot but I can see its flaws its by no means perfect and some things do bore me once in a while, but I can still have fun with it, one other factor that I do see mentioned once in a while and does keep me playing and wondering for more is that fact that Mythic are doing a great job adding/fixing content that with the added potential makes this game a gem in my book.
If mythic keeps up the good work this game will be polished and better soon enough.
