Well does dying mean anything? or same old "easy mode"?? Solo play gonna rule??
I wont play another boringly easy MMORPG.
Dying in this game probably will be easy mode. There is no punishment for death, you gain a bonus if you stay alive called PeP which makes you do more damage, have more health etc. The only real pubishment for dying will be losing that bonus and having to run back to where you were although it has been mentioned before that the spawn points are never to far away.
The challenge for this game deffinatly will not be from its death penalty. As for solo play, the game as far as we know is being designed for solo and small group content. This game is going in the direction of a very casual friendly mmo, with the draw for hardcore players being the skill based combat, and mastering the skill deck.
I probably wont play a boring easy mode game again either, admitedly this game looks to be going in the easymode direction. Ill give it a chance though because at the end of the day they are one of the few developers that are trying something new, so I dont think people will have a right to complain about WoW clones or games that are always the same if they do not atleast give it a chance.
Luckly there will be a free trial area from 1 to 10 so hopefully that will give us a chance to see if the game is good or not without risking paying for another dissapointing mmo.

It's sad your not going to play this game...it definitely is not easy mode. The system they have set up for death certainly makes you want to stay alive. Losing the bonuses you get for staying alive can be a big deal.
Oh and it is not at all a solo game, you will probably need help with many of the quests they plan on having.
I dont think there is any need to insult other poster's,the TCoS forum has been very good at being civil to each other and would be nice if that was to continue.
As for the death penalty, maybe it is not as severe has some would like but it does give you an insentive to stay alive and not just go charging in,there is no-way TCoS can be called another easy mode game,It will take alot of skill to shine here the way combat works, you wont just be standing at the back pressing 1112231,you should read alittle more on the skill deck and the target system to get a better idea of the game and then maybe ask yourself if it is another easy mode game.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

i wouldnt say its easy
There is no death penalty, just a reward of bonus stats if you stay alive.
The end result is that it is indeed another easy mode game. How sad.
Easy mode game? Oh, yeah, I get it. Yes sure this game is for lusers. Sure. All go play Darkfail.
