I have been seeing nothing but negative posts about EQ2 from the beta testers.

Did any beta tester like it or am i goin to be upset when i try it out myself.

After waiting for Horizons for as long as i did and it turned out to be crap i think i will have to hang it up for awile and wait for some of the other games comeing out next year. Impreter and D&D online are a few.

Please leave this posts for beta testers with some positive posts. I have read enough negative ones and want to see the upside of it now.

I have been playing the EQ2 beta for almost a month and I didn't really care for it. On the EQ2 beta forums there are many people that like EQ2. There is also a lot of people that don't like it but when they post anything negative many of the people jump all over them.

I'd recommend that a wise plan might be to simply wait until you play the game, and based on the fact that it's received a lot of criticism from beta testers, approach with caution. If it turns out to be a truly incredible funfest, it'll be all the better because you didn't have high expectations (and who would, considering the flack the game is taking?).

An even better idea (which could save you bucks) would be to wait until one or two months after retail and see what people are saying about the game then. If it has a strong reputation and stands up on its own merits without hiding behind the "it's in beta! it'll all be fixed!" shield, that would be the perfect time to jump in.

Maybe Sony will offer a free 7-day trial to hook customers on their game? Or....... Maybe they won't.

You want positive feedback... So I will be quiet Hey, its fun, if you dislike challenges.. It really is. If you thought Diablo was too complicated then EQ II is right up yer alley, you will love it!

I don't know where you get you information from but the only play I really here any negative feedback from are the WoW forums.

Posts like this only tell me that you are either a WoW vs EQ2 flame starter or just someone that is starting his own trolling.

I have spent a lot of time at EQ Vault. EQ Stratics, EQII.com EQ Warcry and the Official forums. However the most negative I really ever here and any other these places is constructive criticism if you filter out the WoW fans that come there to rant and saying EQ2 sucks and suck. Which usually at the end you can see who they are.

However to make a statement that all you see is "nothing but negative" posts is totally impossible and only tells me you are either trying to start a war here or wanting to get a laugh from a EQ2 fan defending the game.

Typically the majority of reviews so far have been either why too bias or people trying to be logical about it. But, mostly I see is that a lot are satisfied, but expected more. Just like in WoW and other games. I think the best review I have read comes from a Vault Network forum Admin named Mithan which I think he gives EQ2 a fair review. Well i have noticed that they can get alot done in a few months when it comes to beta testing. And as for waiting a few months after release it's to late for that i have already pre ordered it hehe.

Ohh i just found a wesite that has the release date at Dec 20th now. Is that true cause thats the only place i have seen it so far.

Well i am for sure not trying to start any type of flame war i have just been seeing alot of negative posts since last night and it has me concerned a little cause i have been highly anticipateing this game for some time now. And i think your right alot of the posts seem to suggest that they did expect alot more from EQ2 and maybe thats what i am worrying about also.

Yeah, I can see your point. However, I like what Mithan's review is. He seems to attempt to give you a walk thru of what he saw without giving an opinion.

Most will say too good or others will say too bad. But just because what some like and some don't like doesn't mean it is what you want or not want in the game.

To me, Mithan trying to let you look through his eyes to see what he saw without so much of a bias point.

Honestly, read it. I think you will probalby get the most info from it than from most I have read without you actually testing it yourself. It is all I have so far. Some things I didn't like, but my over all view tells me I will like it better than WoW and I got to test WoW. But that is based on what I am looking for not others.

Read murts post, alot of ppl had a good time in that post. A couple other posts I dont remember. Must ppl seem to think its average, imo. Some hate it, and some love it. Since I cant play the game till december any ways cause I have to buy a new comp. So that will give me time to read some posts after the game is released.

I like it... i think people are too picky about stuff, maybe they just didnt get what they expect. I have fun and it actually keeps me playing for hours, somthing other games couldn't do. The Graphics I think are just fine and the world is more colorfull than I had thought. People say the landscape is bland... TURN ON FLORA! Its is so interactive with all the NPCs talking to you. It is honestly different than anything i have ever played. Just try it for your self because some people are just stupid and put down a game because they either never liked the game to begin with and are just too picky... i think it is great and you wont see some things in any other games.

If there is 1 thing I've learned from playing games in general its..Never go to forums if you want an opinion from someone on a game...never.You'll either get so disgusted or put off that you won't try the game or, if you do try the game, you will have pre-concieved ideas that will ruin it for you.If you have been waiting on a game,mmorpg or otherwise, bite the bullet and buy it or try to get into the beta to see for yourself.You are the best judge of what you like.

I agree on not going to forums. Lineage 2 reviews got shit about the game, when it wasnt that bad. Just had some issues like server crashes and not alot of choices. But it could have been an awesome game, if released 2 months later. I dont think you should read forums alot and just go and play the game when it comes out.

Mega wolf I live in phx too, I was just looking at your user info. I live in awahtukee on the weekends and Prescott on the weekdays.

Also, any one in beta can anwser a question? I have noticed in the games videos that the armor/weapons seem to cut through the person. Like when an femal Iksar mage runs, the robes bottom cuts through her legs as is her legs were never there. I hope they fix this or already have. Any one know?

Im playing it too, imo i think it is the best Fighter class so far. Its like EQ live, i had a paladin but i was stronger than most warriors my level. Not because of gear but because i focused on strength and harder hitting weapons like 2hs instead of using a 1hs and shield like most paladins. Right now in EQ2 im doing the same thing using a 2hs weapon even though i get shield bash as a skill, I feel that using 2hs will affect how i do in the future.

Are you hitting alot of damage? I like heavy hitters and heavy armor. So I really like 2H blunts. Do they have a stun effect when using blunt weapons?

I've been in beta since August. I like it. It's not perfect, but no MMORPG to date is, especially those released. Even though it's in beta I would rather "play/test" EQII than play anyy of the current released MMORPGs. More content on top of the mounds of content they have currently is being added. So many quests there is no way anyone who has to leave home for work/school/toilet paper will ever complete them all. Did I mention they are still adding stuff?

Any game is going to have its naysayers. Just a fact of life. You're also going to see more complaint posts than praise posts. People in general are quick to complain and slow to give praise where it is due. Like suggested above, try it for yourself or even wait a month until after release and see what folks are saying (though I prefer to give things a try and form my own opinions, be it by buying a game myself or going to a friends house who has the game and playing). That way you can make an educated decision based on facts instead of basing your decision on the emotional responses of others. And face it, you don't truly know the emotional/mental states of the rest of us posters!

Thanks everyone for your posts. I was goin to play it and form my own opnion i am just getting excited and what to know everything NOW..

Anyways, if anyone has some insight on there choosen archtypes please feel free to talk about what you thought about your experiences.

I have been wanting to play a Necro again but my ussual group that is goin to move to EQ2 with me will need a healer so i might do that instead.

When Murt made the post he had only seen the game up to level 8. When i played the game I thought the game was incredible around level 8. But later on.....

I would suggest waiting about a week or 2 to see a better in-depth review Murt gives when he reaches at least level 20.
