Just could not help yaself tsk tsk,

Seriously why do ppl have to grudge on about this crap? i'm not trying to defend the game i just find it childish and immature of ppl to have to try and bring games down or ridicule them in this kind of fashion.

In all fairness he only stated that it was seen as a clearance item and at the price listed.

Could it have been intended as a slight? Possibly. His posting history doesn't indicate it; so let's just take the post at face value:

People interested in picking up the game may now pick up the game for less money than before. If anything, that's an incentive to try it out.

I seen it as low as €19 here... But in my little fantasy world (that is atleast what it will most likely be called) it's just a sign that the company has made the expected income from box sales so now it's just about maintaining the content and upgrading it. Atleast thats how it feelt they did with AO... ^^

All it says to me is that AoC has lost it's shelf space by going to the clearance wall but that's to be expected in any large retailer.  The game is approaching 6 months old and has had it's peak sales.  I mean it's not like it is Rock Band or Guitar Hero where it will generate lots of holiday sales.

This is pretty standard. Nothing unusual

WOW gives away free trials of the game.  In order to continue playing after the 14 days, you still have to go back and buy a box to get an activation code.   WOW (original) is still $19 and the WOW battlechest ( original plus first expansion) is $29.   The price of the WOW battlechest will probably drop to $19 in a few weeks and they are in the process of removiing the 'stand alone original'.  Basically new players will get the first expansion for free.

Also the price drop of AOC is not a good or bad thing.   It's basically a reason to 'brag' if a game stays in the market for a year and doesn't have to drop it's price.   The vast majority of games slowly drop after 6 months.   I know on the Blizzard conference call, the Blizzard execs seemed pleasently surprised that last years CoD is still selling at peak price and weren't expecting it.

On amazon.com if you click on the (XXX Used & New) you can see some pretty low prices. I picked up a copy for 9.97 + 3.00 shipping (New). The cardoard box was a little roughed up but the actual plastic case was pristine and still factory sealed. For a first run through the game at this point in it's history I thought it was worth the 13.00 total.

Well then someone should tell the website the price has dropped.

    http://www.target.com/gp/search/185-8959708-9652633?field-keywords=age+of+conan&url=index%3Dtarget&ref=sr_bx_1_1

Still showing $50 for the game and $30 for 60-day timecard.

Also, just to play devils advocate, i hit up target, walmart, bestbuy, circuit city, and 2 gamestops last night looking for the new Guitar Hero.  Age of Conan was still $50 at every place i went.  Texas btw.

Was in Best Buy and Target this morning, not a copy on the shelf. Warhammer, Guild Wars and WoW were the only  MMORPG's. Went to Game Stop which still carries some PC Games and asked the guy behind the counter about AoC, he looked at me, laughed, said they had sent all their copies back  and told me I did not want to waste my money on that game. Suggested I pre order LoTRO's Mines of Moria instead.
