It's pretty much considered a feature, not a flaw. Indeed, over in Korea they apparently have a web client that will let you check up on your AFKing while at work or something.
(I tend to agree with you, because the fact that I rarely AFK means I'll never reach Expert, much less Master or higher, which leaves me out of some content)
