It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!
Some of the more experienced users may remeber Mir2 and its somewhat overlooked successor Mir3. Well recenlty, the Official servers have taken a turn for the worse and all thats left is a small community of private server players.
Unfortunately, this small number dwindles by the day and the game is in need of some new players. This is why i'm here. Advetisement ftw. Anyway, i'm aware of a bunch of people who are 'bored' with the generic wow type MMO. So i say, give Mir3 a go
It's not your generic WASD rotating 3D game, but a 'grid' like' movement game. Each player occupis a sqaure and can move between them, simple eh. To walk, you hold the left mouse button in one direction, to run you use the right mouse button. Even simpler.
As i don't want to bore you with 'wall of text', here's the client link and patch:
http://files.filefront.com/Legendofmir3rar/;12269788;/fileinfo.html
(Extract to main folder i.e. where mi3.exe is)
http://files.filefront.com/maprar/;12269737;/fileinfo.html
(extarct to map folder)
Once you've installed and patched, doube click the launcher.exe and locate the 'create account' tab. Once account is created, play away.
if you need any ingame help, just ask around, there's plenty of people around

I played Mir 2 when it was released and decided to hold off from playing mir 3 as I didn't like the company that produced it. Then Mir 3 USA came out I played that for ages until the servers got taken down. The only thing I hate about this game is that there are many F2P games just as good and (not sure if it has changed) but it incurs a monthly fee.
edit; why does lom3europe.com send you to gametribe and www.lom3europe.com send you to game network? are they changing ownership?

well, the offical servers are dead. there is very little info on how to access them, and i believe you can't create accounts anymore. Gametribe and gamenetwork are essentially the same company.
Essentailly, what i've posted is the private server community that has moved from the official game, so its F2P
links fixed
So basically we can join, get whole game features and not pay?
Legend of Mir 2 was my first mmorpg and I still cherish it, I exploited the skeleton bug with my Taoist and I enjoyed noobs getting killed when appearing close to a npc and getting like 20 skeletons on them in a supposed safe area , I loved the caves where you could mine and kill zombies for hours and meet an occasional player. Sure we weren't jaded little bitches whining about grind in those days, we were simply enjoying pure mmo magic
What pisses me off with LoM3 is I tried it a bit some months ago and community was really nasty in forums (like they owned the game) and in the starter area, top level people ganked me like 4 or 5 times when I was killing reindeers and I thought wtf these people are whining cause their game isn't getting fresh players and they gank me with their 3 year old toons. I felt bitter
precisely.
in fact, you actually get more than the official servers (new items, caves, mobs etc.)
I played Legend of Mir when it was released. The technology was very exciting in a 2D isometric game. However, the times I spent in the game vanished as I moved on to greener pastures.
tl;dr it's a diablo clone :P
